Thread: how do i find the children of a marriage?

Hi, this is probably really obvious, but i don't know how to locate the children of a marriage. parents George ashton Green 1904- ? and Violet evelyn Green (nee Nice){ 12/10/1912 -1984} married 1936. lived in Gt horkesley Essex. I have record of 1 daughter born 1946, but don't know where to start looking, please advise ,

Do you have any names to work with besides the one daughter you know about, plus approx dates?

Hi Nana, no sorry, i have only the parents names. i am assuming between 1937 and the dob for daughter i have,which is 1946. any children would have born around colchester or even Gt Horkesley itself, the only Green i have found so far did not have Nice as mothers maiden name even thogh he was listed as Gt horkesley. Liz

Hi Liz - the only way is to trawl through the bmd records for Greens (masses of them) with mothers maiden name Nice.
Here is one - Ashton G Green - Colchester 4a 1204 mothers maiden name Nice - 1st quarter 1937
I have sent you a pm about him - once you have gone through all the messages I sent during a very prolonged senior moment (which you need to ignore) - I hope this time what I send you is sense!

Birth Gillian M R Green 3rd quarter 1937 Colchester 4a 1344 mothers maiden name Nice
No others up to the end of 1941 - I will look 1942-6 later
