Oh Anny I do understand
And empathise with you
My old computers home page
Was Google..now it's Wanadoo !

Most things are in the same place
Even if a different name
And now I've 'Autodisconnect'
That says 'log on again'

Last night three times in one hour
I had to reconnect
This surely can't be right can it ?
Is this machine suspect ?

Oh well, least I can get on here
Now I just need MSN
To be in contact with my mates
And Grandaughter again !

At last ! I've tidies up my file
My Pendered one is done !
I've put in all the branches
Back to 1651 !

I've sorted it in order
Easy for me to read
And hopefully to find stuff
(I'm bound to have a need !)

I fear there are, alas some strays
And some name lists too
But in the back of my file
They'll stay till I know what to do.

I searched the net for tree charts
For 15 folk or more
Some had six -some had five
And some had only four !

So I gave up and did my own
It took some time but now
With decorated pages, charts
My tree files are a 'Wow' !!

Bit naff but I'm so thrilled I got one sorted out.............just got the rest to do now..................lol

Oh Chris you won't believe
How long it took to do
And that's just Mum's Paternal side
The rest -I've not a clue.

On Dads side there the Barnetts
That's not quite so bad
But on his Dad's side its the Smiths
And that will drive me mad !!

They seem to be all Charles and John
Then Morris hits the scene
In Northants, not in Bedfordshire
Honest- I could scream !

You see there are two Charlies
Born in 1801
And I think I might have followed
The tree of the wrong one !!

And Haddons on Mum's mum's side
There's far more than I thought
Spread all over Northants
No wonder I feel fraught !!

Some, they lived in Naseby
Some in Kettering town
Mum, she reckons Ketterings right
So I quickly wrote them down.

But what if they're the wrong lot
And Mum made a mistake
I followed the wrong lot once before
This job's no 'piece of cake'.

Still, least my files look pretty
And names ? I've hoarded loads
No matter where they came from
They now live in my abode !

I'm late on here today I fear
It's been a busy time
A meeting went on all morning
An hour over its time !

I quickly got some shopping
Once I'd got my pension
Then I bought some mushrooms
Oh and flowers, I thought I'd mention.

One boy has messed the bathroom up
It's in a right old state
I hadn't noticed it before
Now he's out with his mates !

The other boy, well he's making
His model aircraft kit
He's in his room for hours
Painting all the little bits.

Bill-he's watching football
So what else can I do
But log on here and see what's what
With all my mates - like you !

Crikey...........just read through that and I think I get worse........lol

Oh Mary My Poor Hubby's got the lurgy
He Looks a blooming mess
When he got yesterday morning
He looked like he'd been in the ring

He said that I had thumped him
Right in his left eye
So I sent to the doctors
He's got Shingles in his eye

The Doc he gave him some pills
And some cream to go in his eye
and he has to have em five times a day
Oh and he aim't allowed to drive, lol

So I had to cancell Archery
Well if he can't see how can he shoot
And the Bank they wanted to us
Well Now they blooming don't.

So there you are its very sad
More tablets for him to take
I'm thinking of hiring him out you know
Cos he Rattles now if you Shake, pmsl.

Oh Suey, poor old Derek
And poor you now you're 'Nurse'
Cos taking care of someone ill
Well, that can be much worse.

What Derek's got, well that aint nice
He needs some sympathy
But just be very careful
When you hand him cups of tea !!!!!!

Jon's back and now we got a date
For the launch of AA2
So thought I'd save the history stuff
I need.....and recipes too !

Been copying and pasting
And then I went on Works
To put them in a folder
By now my fingers hurt !

Been right clicking and 'save as'
My Documents are full up
So think I pop and see my mate
For now I've had enough !

Oh dear I'm sad so very sad
But I've just had enough
There's Val...she does go on and on
'Bout no particular stuff.

Moll.....she works such funny hours
I never catch her right
Vel ...when the crickets on
Disappears from sight.

Lozz is mad on football
That's all we ever hear
Geoff.....well he's my co-author
So worth a pint of beer !

Anny writes such lovely poems
They do put mine to shame
Moogaloo's not lost for words
Always loads to say !

Star....she does my head in
With games I just can't do
Shan thought she'd found my Pendereds
But ..oh no....there's still a few....!

Oh Chris.....what can I say about those
Senior moments shared
And Max, wearer of the pointy hat
Win the quiz...don't you dare !

Floss.....a person oh so royal
And Jan, the clever one
Who playes the word games with me
As does Cher - well, it's just fun.

I'll miss you Suey and your Derek
And Sue who brought me here
But I'm afraid I have to go
But not without a tear.

So Jon and Kel....I love ya both
But sorry.......for today
I have to say Bye Bye to all
You people on AA.

You've all been very good to me
For those I failed to mention
A 'thanks to you' for being here
Helping to eased my tensions.

I hate endings, I hate goodbyes
But this I have to do
Cos something better beckons
Its called .....yes......AA2!!!!!!!!!!

If Your Family Tree Doesn't Fork

Many many years ago when I was twenty three,
I got married to a widow who was pretty as could be.

This widow had a grown-up daughter
Who had hair of red.
My father fell in love with her,
And soon the two were wed.

This made my dad my son-in-law
And changed my very life.
My daughter was my mother,
For she was my father's wife.

To complicate the matters worse,
Although it brought me joy,
I soon became the father
Of a bouncing baby boy.

My little baby then became
A brother-in-law to dad.
And so became my uncle,
Though it made me very sad.

For if he was my uncle,
Then that also made him brother
To the widow's grown-up daughter
Who, of course, was my step-mother.

Father's wife then had a son,
Who kept them on the run.
And he became my grandson,
For he was my daughter's son.

My wife is now my mother's mother
And it makes me blue.
Because, although she is my wife,
She's my grandmother too.

If my wife is my grandmother,
Then I am her grandchild.
And every time I think of it,
It simply drives me wild.

For now I have become
The strangest case you ever saw.
As the husband of my grandmother,
I am my own grandpa!
