Good mates Shan are hard to find
The sort of folk who are always kind
No matter what you say and do
If they disagree, they still care for you.

They should be treasured by us all
Drop them a line, give them a call
It takes so little of our time
To let them know they're on our minds

The art of writing a letter today
Well, sadly it seems to have gone astray
But to receive one, it can mean so much
To the friend who's so glad you've kept in touch

I've got special friends I've already met
And some that I havent ,at least not yet
Though many miles may keep us apart
These friends I keep close in my heart.

Chris you're too modest, your poetry's great
And belongs right up there with the rest
But I have to admit, when it comes down to it
Our Mary is simply The Best.

I just gaze in awe at the words that she prints
With it's cadence, and balance and scan
And I'll just keep on trying, or in attempt dying
To finish the lines I began

And one day who knows, all the ill fitting prose
might fall into place and make rhyme
So let's take our pen and begin once again
And we'll all be a poet some time.

OH! NO, ME POOTERS BUSTED.
By
Baz

I was sitting here lonely, my friends they were gone
And there wasn't a thing I could do
Cos my PC it crashed, and my happiness dashed
I was feeling incredibly blue

It seems that I let in a virus or two
Confirming the worse of my fears
And the man at the workshop just tutted and said
"I've not seen one this old in years!"

He talked about Firewalls and Addaware stuff
And what was my Ram and my DIMM?
But I hadn't a clue, well you don't have - do you?
You just leaves all that stuff up to him.

Well he looked at my DSP, then at my Cache
And told me the news wasn't good,
The thing was Kaput, completely messed up,
But he'd fix it for me if he could.

This brightened my day, I am happy to say
His words they were not all in vain,
So back I could get, with me mates on the net,
And me Bank Account's empty.........................again.

For GF the trial is set,
His defence will truly be met,
With accusations from many a direction,
But will anyone make a connection.

With the allegedly dastardly deed,
Or does the jury further need,
The proof of the crime committed most foul.
Who will win, who will throw in the towel?

A brilliant Quiz Night - yet again
With me and floss as joint winners !
Bit of shock for me I might add
Cos I hadn't had fish for my dinner !

Val said that this week t'would be easy
Well I had to scan through my books
To find out the answers -then oops
I dropped two while having a look !

The pages fell out all over the floor
I tried to put them back in place
So next time Bill does his crosswords
He don't wear a frown on his face !

Mollie forgot that the quiz was on
So excitied was she 'bout her new job
Her kids took her out, treated her to a drink
So least that saved her a few bob !

Geoff - well he couldn't have googled
Not with the answers he had
Maybe he was flustered, aware of the fact
That he had really been quite a bad lad !

Poor Suey got froze out right at the end
And just couldn't make it back in
Kelly sat there all night but said she wouldnt play
So there was no chance that she could win.
Mattygirl popped up some answers
Before Val said 1 2 3 GO
I missed an answer and could only guess
Cos my computer was terribly slow!
So Thanks again Val for another good night
Enjoyed by us all, every one
And thanks to the folk who took part in it all
Cos thats what makes it such fun !

I've had a serious fall out
Someone I thought was a friend
And thought I'd tell you 'bout it
'Cos it's drove me round the bend !

This friend, the name of Dyson
Lives in my cupboard, 'neath the stairs
I thought I'd bring him out a while
See daylight, have fresh air.

He really was delighted,
And dashed around the floor
Picking up the fluff and dust
Then suddenly, no more !

He switched off, didn't want to play
And last time this occured
I phoned a lady at the office
Of the great Dyson firm.

'Give it a short rest' she said
Then switch it back on'
A rest ? I'm the one feeling tired
There must be something wrong.

After a coffee and a fag
I did what I'd been told
It came back on 'Yippee' I said
The problem had been solved.

I did the kitchen carpet
And then, again it stopped
It's 3 years old, no guarantee
Can't return it to the shop !

I fetched the small one from upstairs
I got in Woolworths sale
For Fifteen Quid, it swept up
Where my expensive Dyson failed.

So now I've had enough of this
The Dyson weighs a ton
It cost a lot of money
I'm afraid it's time here's done.

So if you want a Dyson
I've one here going spare
I'm getting my Mum's Ewbank
Dyson's future ? I don't care !

I had a Ewbank for some years
Before the Dyson days
'Twas better than the Dyson
Well, mine at any rate.

So if I have no offers
To take this Dyson off my hands
On Thursday it will be put outside
A gift for the dustbin man !

I'm sorry last night I missed the quiz
I fell asleep in the chair you see
Still Mary and Floss they did the biz
And I expect would have beaten me

The quiz was set by Val this time
And a great job she does as well
If it had been my turn - oh what a crime
I would have been cast down into hell

We cannot have the quizmaster
Fast asleep in the chair
That indeed would be a disaster
Too much for folks to bear

Now on to Mary and her Dyson
What a tale of woe
A friend to do that - its not a nice'n
Dyson has got to go

I had one of these very machines
For many years it worked well
Used it often and it cleans
My carpets, they look swell

That was until mine died on me
Yes I too did have that occur
So off to the shops I did flee
So I could clean up the dogs fur

A new Dyson I did buy again
And even read the instructions
But I am not one to complain
But did make some deductions

The filters need washing out you see
About once per half year
Great, my eldest son said to me
Thank you mother dear

Yes my old Dyson in now working well
After a little attention
But on the lapse I must not dwell
Just thought I would give it a mention
