Oh Jac -you had me welling up
I thought about my Dad
And all the times we laughed or cried
All the fun we had.

But worry not Jac, as you know
Our Dad's are having fun
Cos mine would get his drumsticks out
And shout - 'Come on everyone

Lets dance the clouds away a while
And have a laugh or two'
And should you feel a gentle breeze
It's Dad saying 'I love you'

How beautiful it is to do nothing and rest afterwards...

Hooray, I'm back online again !
The last three days have been a pain,
Spent incommunicado, sadly,
For Windows let me down quite badly.

The update I let it install
Conflicted with ZA's firewall,
Connection to the web then died,
Caused PC chaos nationwide.

I think that's what the helpline said.
I only knew the thing was dead.
They explained and apologised,
" We're working on it," they advised.

" But meanwhile, some things you could do,
Change this, and uninstall that, too,
Power down your router for a bit,
Unplug the lot, that might do it.

You may find, when you reconect,
This has had the desired effect."
We did all this as best we could
But none of it did any good.

And then along came Son-in-law,
Clicked many things, then clicked some more
Then, like his son the other day
Said " Sorted that ", and went away.

Though tempted first to browse AA
(What went on while I was away ?)
More sensible to check the mail,
Done each day, normally, without fail.

Who'd emailed me ? You'll never guess.
Only Zone Alarm, no less,
With the solution, should I need it .
What use is that, if you can't read it ?

I've not gone far Chris - but today
I've got the builder in
To plaster like he said he would
Some time -way back when

Oh what a mess -kitchen & lounge
The carpet, kitchen floor
And one bit that he's doing
Is right by our front door

He's got the door wide open
So all who pass can stare
See cobwebs and the and dust
And say 'Look at the muck in there !!'

He's swept some up - and coughed a bit
Then spluttered quite a lot
I went to help then turned away
Was that dust or fog ??

I couldn't see him, just a shape
Heard him sweep the broom
I know he's somewhere in there
Lurking in my front room

Hiding behind the cloud of dust
And the cough ? Was that a hint to me
To get off my bum, put kettle on
For yet another cup of tea ???????

Evening all, want to say....
What great fun I've had today
Met up with Nanna in Liverpool
She was an...... absolute jewel
We stopped for coffee at the dock
Before we knew it.......it was four o'clock
When having fun time goes so fast
T'was amazing how the hours past
Nanna, thanks for a wonderful time
And before I end this rhyme
Can't wait until we meet again..
Would be great if you can take a train..
To Yorkshire and visit me
Then I can return your hospitality
