Welcome back Pam to the fold
Grandchildren - you've had two ?
My word -one was enough for me
I didnt know what to do
He crawls at 'heaven knows what' an hour
He's here and then he's there
Laughing....everything is fun
What a life........so young...no cares.

Oh lozzie, you remembered
Well sorry -I got there first
Cos close to hand, as always
Is my precious little verse
Complete with sparkly stickers on
The cardi - thats upstairs
But when the winter fuel goes up
Be the first thing I wear !!

And lets face it, even the best of us
Can't remember everything
Especially me....... such a daft bat
You see what old age brings ?
But I'll always keep my poem
And the Mills and Boon type tale
I wrote with Geoff -a sequel due
But sadly that plan failed.

Well, not quite, cos I started
But didn't get if done
Still got it.........maybe one day
J K Rowling ??? She'll be stunned !!
I've no excuse ....my trees dried up
Rellies ? Where are they ?
Can't be found.....so here's my chance
Who knows ...this one might pay !!

But till then I'll just dream on
Bout things that might have been
And then I'll kick myself in gear
(But first get my house clean !)
I need some space for thinking
Can;t write..........(clutter -I've a lot!)
A romance that might turn sour
Ooops...........I'll give away the plot !!

Ah well cant worry , seeing the kiddies will be great

Ill drop in when i get back home

Ill be needing a smile as seeing the kiddies is far too long

Chris -pack your brolly and your mac
Rain ? It might be worse than that !
Forecast says 'Freak Gales' and 'Rain'
Oh no -not that wet stuff again !
I've tomato plants and runner beans
Will they get blown to smithereens ?
My foxgloves - craving for the sun
Can see them flattened one by one !
Oh eck and it's mid summers day
(Or something like that, so they say)
Summer ? Has that been and gone ?
I'm sat here with two cardi's on
Dinner tonight.......thats beef stew
And because there's just us two
We'll eat some, freeze some, cos who knows
Another day, when the cold wind blows
We'll not want salad, fresh and cool
Hot stew for us.......cos we're no fools
Inner warmth gives 'outer glow'
Now I'm talking rubbish
I'd better go........................

Chris,
Have a lovely break away
but don't stay away too long
as for packing, why don't you
just take the bloomin' lot!

You'll be ready for the rain then,
and wind and sleet and snow
and who knows IF the sun shines,
your cossie will be do fine.

Then when you return here
we'll be waiting for a rhyme,
and tales of the fun you've had
while crossing o'er the miles.

Oh dear whats the world coming to ?
Oil prices through the roof !
Electric, gas they're going up
Thats not to mention food !
I think I'll start to store stuff
While I've still got the cash
Oh eck, what if the council workers
Strike....don't collect out trash ??
We'll have to dig a great big hole
Create out own land fill
And if it went on long enough
We'd have built a great big hill !

So when the winter looms on us
Hibernation will beckon
And so to bed for the duration
Least thats what I reckon
Just like all the animals
We'll come out when it's Spring
We'll have missed the festive season
And the expense it brings
We won't need electricity
Nor gas -we'd save a packet
No need for winter woollies
Nor a great big hooded jacket !

But will we do it ? Course not
You know the reason why ?
Cos we couldn't not log on each day
Now could we.........well not I !!!

It's football on the tele again
(pause while I slowly count up to ten!)
The wind it battered our poor runner beans
But thank goodness, they still look healthy & green

Our lad he skived off from work for the day
Why ? Who knows, he just won't say
Girlfriend he had to see ? Maybe -maybe not
I'm losing track of which girlfriend he's got !!

Our old cat I fear may be losing her sight
Either that or she's just not too bright
She miaows at the cupboard -wails at the door
Mind you, she's often been like this before !

Now I'm getting calls on my mobile phone
To sell double glazing ! - 'not again' I groan
How do they get my number ? Who knows
Thought mobiles were 'personal' -seems its not so

My desk is a mess, there's papers all over
Shall I tidy it ? I think I'll not bother
As for my desk drawers....best you don't ask
Cos that's another 'too big to do' task !

Oh why aren't I organised, tidy and neat?
Why don't I recover my long worn out seat ?
Why don't I stick to my list that's so long
Of 'stuff to do'........and put things where they belong ?

It seems like I'm destined to be just a slob
There's crumbs on the worktop and grease on the hob
All of this 'stuff' going round in my brain
And what do you know ? Yep.......it's raining again !!!

Well, I'm back again guys,
and my moneys all spent.
but with 4 kiddies in tow
we know where it went.

There's toys to buy, and clothes for them too,
bad enough when there's 2, but much worse when there's 4.
We love them all deeply, and spoil them to bits,
but it's worth every penny to see them in fits
of laughter when playinga,d trying on wellies when it's not even raining.

Our days away are over, we've arrived home once more
I'm sat on the sofa, my bags on the floor.
I'll unpack tomorrow, I'm too tired now
I just want to see what I've missed on AA,
and print off the pictures of our 2 days away.

I woke up this morning
and looked into your eyes
I knew that you loved me
but still a nice surprise

You covered my face with kisses
so happy as I woke
I know that you love me
without a word we spoke

I wrapped my arms around you
and gave a great big hug
I know that you love
it makes my heartstrings tug

I woke up this morning
the time was half past seven
I know that you love me
but a sleep in would be heaven

So pleased you was to see me
Happy to wake me up
I know that I love you
my tatty, laughing pup
