All my papers out again , checking this and that

Found forgotten info im a daft bat

Youll have peace again for while , plus soon im off again

Well Mary ive kept you up to date

Sounds like you've had fun Chris
Since I've been away
Shame I missed the Liverpool Meet
It clashed with MIL's birthday !!

We played at being 'tourists'
Two cathedrals we saw
Oh what a walk -my poor old legs
And feet............oh they were sore !

In one cathedral a childrens choir
Were singing - yes, I choked
While hiding in the gift shop
Behind a startled bloke !!

We walked some more into the town
Kept spotting things so strange
Superlambananas they called them
All painted different ways.

Some had trees and some had numbers
Some colours real bright
Some had firemans uniforms on
They really were a sight !

We spotted the Hard Days Night Hotel
Dived in for leaflets - free
To send to No. 1 son
Cos he's quite a Beatles freak !

We might have stayed another day
But down came all the rain
Still never mind there's other times
We're bound to go again.

While we were gone the builder rang
'Could he come and work some more?'
We'd waited over three weeks
He should have come before.

Now it's his turn to wait on us
We're still on 'holiday'
Monday night I'll phone him
Then I bet he'll be away !!

It's nice to go away but
Even better to come back
To home sweet home and all the mail
And suitcase to unpack !

And our old cat who wails 'hello'
Like we've been gone two weeks
Then curls up on my paperwork
And promptly falls asleep !!

Football on the tele
Holby City....I've missed that
Cos Bill forgot to tape it
(Had an 'after dinner nap' !!)

Another message on the phone
From Geoff who once lived here
Can he bring his washing up to do ?
And he'll buy Bill some beer !!

Well I'd just finished one lot
For another girl we know
Whos house had caught fire recently
So I hardly could say 'No'

One day maybe I'll get to do
The washing that is mine
But the way things are going
That just may be some time.

I hope this little rhyme makes sense
I'm feel tired and so
I think I'll say 'goodnight to all'
And thanks for all the poems !

Nice to see you home mary ,you too have had fun

My turn away this week so must get washing done

Yes Mary it has been good concerning my tree

The info Raven and Light found ,the chap contacted me

What i like he wants tree correct not just names

Some ive seen take it as a game

You know as i mistakes are easily made , or rellies have told white lies

Careful research tells a story even after we die

With my family ever growing they will see their roots

And yes their gran lol who lived in a boot

WELCOME HOME

Well 'boot lady' you have done well
Wish I could say the same
My lot have 'gone to ground'
Quite literally I'd say !

Well what a time I'm having
Passwords ? Who invented them ?
I'm a member of Freecycle site
I thought.......aha.........but then
A lady offered lovely tiles
Just right for our back room floor
I tried to answer but it seemed
My passwords not me.......no more !

I asked them for a new one
They sent it..........I tried again
Rejection ! Oh such sorrow
But just who is to blame ?
Is it Yahoo ? I've re-joined
Had to start from scratch
So I did the same with freecycle
But password didnt match !

They've thrown me out no matter what
And now the tiles have gone
Someone else has had them
Bill's miffed...........and then along
Came a little letter from the bank
How to do it on the 'net'
Well Bill can't switch computer on
And banking ? I can't do that........yet.

Another case of 'passwords'
Security numbers too
But banking on the internet
Says 'No' to that..........oh poo !!
So seems nobody wants me
Oh dear me what a shame
And all for just a password
That's just a silly name !

Well I give up.......the tiles are gone
What I don't have I shan't miss
The back room floor for now will be
Concrete............but how I wish
I could afford some nice tiles
Terracotta............I'd like that
But its just not meant to be is it
So I'll make do with a big mat !!

Got any from the Workhouse Chris
I think I have..........well might
Three children ended up with Grandad
Mum I Dad died, name of Knight.

I know the Poor House Guardian chap
Or whatever he was called
Made payments to my Mums grandad
For a few months, that was all.

How do you count your rellies ?
Do you go by direct line
Or all those little branches
I count them...........cos' they're mine !

They might be kids of my gt. gran
Or even of her brother
But still they bear the same name
As my grandad and my mother

Thats why its called a 'family tree'
Else it would be a 'trunk'
Somehow that wouldn't sound the same
And half mine would be 'defunk'

Alas I'd lose the Pendered gold
The Manslaughter, the Home
For Woman' benefactor
And all my research blown !

I'd just have one straight line to see
Of rellie.........oh do poor
Who married so beneath themselves
While their brothers took up 'law'

Servants I'd be l left with
And a lot of those 'ag.labs'
No one of wealth or fame and such
It would all seem rather sad

And sad it is although I've got
The rich side and the poor
Cos those who 'had' just turned their backs
On the 'had nots' without a thought !

But it makes a real good story
To pass on to my sons
And hope that they won't lose interest
If they do.......a plan.....I've one !

If all else fails and no-one wants
My folk with sad and grand lives
The History Society can have it
To keep in their archives.

Then one day in the distant future
Who knows.........someone may look
For the self same folk that I did
And they'll find them in my books !!

I Know exactly what you mean , dads tree seem to have done well

Poor mums tree seem to have had a life of hell

But realy as of yet were they happy although poor

Who knows what goes on behind the door

Sometimes a simple life is the best

Not money grapping and never rest

Ive no pot of gold to find or treasures to unfold

Each time a ancestor died everything was sold

But like you i will leave when im gone my family book

So each descendant can always take a look

Hopefully they will add a few chapters more

If not i will haunt them if they say grt gran was a bore
