Daft bat ? Me ? Oh Chris
You know me oh too well
I wish I weren't so silly sometimes
But I know you won't tell
The whole world just how stupid
I am, the things I do
You'll keep my secrets - keep 'mum'
Now I'm depending on you !

Oh ooops !!! What am I saying
I've just told the world wide web
That I'm a daft bat, and worse 'stupid'
I've lost it in the head !!!

I thank you both for your replies
They made me really smile
and as I sit here reading posts
they close up all the miles

We 're all

We're all on here from around the globe
with one interest in common
To find those ancient rellies
To delve and dig and probe

Pam

So I would like to thank you all
for making me so welcome
and answering questions that I have
when a problem beckons

Pam I must apologise
I went and called you Pat !
I don't know how it happened
I should wear my Dunces hat !!

Oh rellies ........please don't mention them
Especially if they're called
Smith !! I've Johns and Charles
And Morris I recall.

I gave them up a while ago
Brickwall made my head ache
And I just felt I had to pause
For my sanity's sake !

I'll get back to them one day
Pendereds ? I've got all them
But Smith?? .........I'm just plain baffled
Especially the men !!

They all lived in a village
Almost next door to each other
Surely they were all related ?
Same father -different mother ??

And now my son has asked me
To do a family tree
All about his birth father
He'd like some history

Well his Dad was adopted
Nora Rivett was his Mum
Then she gave him to Florence May
So a Smith then he'd become !!

So now I have to delve some more
Two families to trace !!
Adopted ones and birth ones
More wrinkles on my face !!

But for my son I'll do it
Cos he's 40 this year
It'll be a special present for him
One that he'll hold dear

He'll know lots more about his Dad
Stories he never knew
And when my grandsons grown
He'll know his absent grandad too.

Dear Mary, Please don't worry
It doesn't bother me.
I'd rather be called Pat
than be ignored completely

I can't help telling everyone
how friendly it is here
on another site I used to use
I felt like I wasn't there.

I'd ask a question one day,
and never get a reply.
I'd try to join in the fun threads too
but my comments would be passed by.

But now I'm happy as I search
cos I know that I have friends.
and the 'GR' site to which I refer?
I don't care if it ends.

Pam I know just what you mean
It's like a family here
No matter what the problem
There's always someone with an ear

Family tree or anything
Listen..someone will
And if you get to meet this lot
It's even better still !

There's Chris....she comes mob-handed
Really -she lives in a shoe
Cos she's got so many kids plus theirs
She's not sure what to do !

Kelly - she's with Chris's Jon
Now Jon....webmaster grand
He keeps us in our place -it's scary
He's got the upper hand

Now Starlight.....she's a real gem
She'll help you if she's able
If you meet Lozzie....just watch out
She'll drink you under the table !

There's none better than this lot
Slizzy, Flood and the rest
I can't remember everyone
Except that they're the best !!

(Apologies to Lozzie for any implication that she might be an alcoholic ''Sheffield whatever team it is'' supporter.................pmsl
