I've been in a state of panic
Finances up the creak !
Left my nerves fraying at the edge
Biggest part of the week !

I call in at the bank to see
If something could be arranged
It could.......then I get a phone call
That left me quite deranged !!

I'd only been back half an hour
Told Bill, all was ok
Then some chap from the bank phone up
Completely spoilt my day !

I could really understand him
Call centre I expect
But he made things sound worse than they were
By now my day was wrecked !

I got myself in such a state
So Bill went to the bank
Was told we're ''not to worry
Just routine''.............he left.....said 'thanks'

Panic number two......oh dear
Spare duvet needed - quick !
My son and baby grandson due
Next week.........(heck......I feel sick !!)

Bill tried the market....nothing there
Club book delivery..........two weeks !
I just cant use the old spare one
It positively stinks !

Bedrooms - they need sorting out
So son can see the bed
And somewhere for the travelling cot
(oh..........now my aching head !!)

Panic number three.......our Street Sale
Saturday.......and we'd thought
We'd have a stall outside the house
Sell old stuff that we'd bought.

Well, can we make our minds up
Whats to go and whats to stay ?
We can't...........so Bill said 'Leave it
And decide it on Friday !

He's at work I'm out all day
I know when he gets home
He'll just not want to bother
Be left to me...........on my own !

I'll end up getting rid of stuff
I really want to keep
Or worse still, no-one will buy it
In that case - I just might weep !!

So, anyone with loads of cash
Or maybe a spare duvet
And a cleaner to sort out my house
Please...........send them up my way !!!

I saw a ship a sailing,
a sailing on the sea.
And it was deeply covered with all lovely things for me.
There were Raisins in the cabins,
and Almonds in the hold.
The sails were made of silk while the masts were made from gold.
There were four and twenty white mice running around the decks with four and twenty ribbons tied around their necks.
The Captain was a duck who wore a little hat and when the ship began to move the Captain said QUACK QUACK.

Love You Dad. Your Always in my heart.

Well, the Street Sale we were going to do
Sadly was 'rained off'
So we've still got the stuff we thought
Might earn us a few bob !

Boot Fair Sunday.....sun came out
Too hot for folk to buy
They just walked round, like in a trance
Not customers........passers by !

Today I went to the dentist
I thought I'd loose my tooth
A great chunk has broke off it
I was nervous, to tell the truth.

This tooth is right at the very front
If it came out........I'd look a witch !
Till they fixed it on my dentures
At what cost ? -cos I ain't rich

But our dentist is a good sort of chap
I said 'do the best you can
To patch it up -I don't want it out'
'OK' said this kindly man.

Without an injection he prodded about
Shoved the filling in, said 'There you are'
And forty -four pounds later
My tooth was still there.........(so far!)

Fingers crossed it stays just where it is
Hanging on by a tiny root
To keep it that way, if I have to
I'll live on a diet of soup !

Now this little verse must come to an end
It's sort of a littlle goodbye
Just for now, though I''ll pop in tomorrow
Ever so quick, to say 'Hi'

Then family arrive, baby grandson
On Thursday a year old he'll be
And what do you know it, at his age
He's got a lot more teeth than me !!

Chris !! A great-gran ? Well I never
The Old Lady who Lived in a shoe
You'll need something bigger when these kids all visit
Forming a long, long queue

In fact a shoe won't be enough
(Now this you'll think is quite a hoot !!)
Our Chris........with kids,grandkids and more
The Old Woman who Lived in a Boot !!!!!

Dear Poet Room I'm new here
and can't rhyme very well,
I used to be a writer (amateur)
but nothing could I sell (awww)

One day I became poorly
and been ill ever since,
my brain has now forgotten how
to put pen into ink.

I hope one day to shock you
and turn up with a rhyme,
but until that time comes
I'll read all the other lines.

Cant write poems Pat ? Course you can
You've just put words to rhyme
And your brain will soon recover
Just give it a little time.

Mine often ceases up on me
Is it my age I wonder ?
As I go through life forgetting things
Make blunder after blunder !

Now as for you Chris - only twelve ??
I'd think that's quite plenty
To fill a boot - go on, get one
And leave that shoe all empty !

(Sorry........pathetic rhyme but couldn't not say something......pmsl)
