Dust ? Anny I don't mind
It makes it more like home
Little bit of muck about ?
I'm never one to moan.

Now just a little update
On Bill and his DVD
He got a cleaning disc today
Put it in and said 'yippee !!'

He'd tried a DVD he had
'Bout cricket............(what a bore)
Tried to play his new one
And it wouldn't play - once more !

The dvd player ceased up
His disc was stuck inside
His new one that he loved so much
He'd bought with so much pride.

He fiddled and he poked about
To try and get it out
I thought he might get a small hammer
And give a hefty clout !!

Out came the instruction book
That told him not a lot
About what to do if discs get stuck
By now he's lost the plot !

I rang our Geoff he came up quick
(He's good with stuff like this)
But even he was baffled
Poor Bill was in a tiz !

By now I'm getting stressed out
Our week off's all gone wrong
Bill muttered, mumbled then he swore
The language was quite strong !!

It seems the only answer
Will be a new machine
Woolworths had some cheap ones
Least those that I'd seen

So now tomorrow will be spent
Getting one installed
Yet more wires behind the tele
Draped along the wall !

I want to paint a cupboard
Is it wise ? Shall I go out ?
If a new machine won't play his disc
My word, he's gonna shout !

I curse the very day some boffin
Said 'Let's make DVD's
To add to videos and tele's
We'll make them like CD's'

Bet they laughed right up their sleeves
'Remote controls for all
For freeview, Videos, the lot
It'll drive folk up the wall !'

Well Boffins........I ain't laughin'
And if I had my way
I scrap the bloomin' lot of them
Just have my radio to play.

My little portable's a gem
Plays old tapes and CD's
And Radio - who needs the rest ?
Well, you Boffin blokes..........not me !!

Not yet star.........it's not over yet
The saga's not over yet
Of Bill and his wretched DVD
A new player he did get !

He muttered and gave great big sighs
I hid and stayed 'logged on'
Keeping well out of the way
In case something went wrong.

Well tea time came and up he stood
And strectched his aching back
'It's working' he announced, I looked
'Those wires' I said ' What's that ???'

'Oh well' says he ' I should have got
'A scart lead..........didn't know
That one was not provided -
I'll get one'...............'humph !' I groaned !

There were wires stuck in the tele
Right in the front I saw
Not one, not two, now was it three
Or was is more like four ?????

And after all this messing
He still has yet to play
The DVD that caused this fuss
He'd bought the other day.

He says he thinks he's had enough
All blessed week it's took
To sort this dvd stuff out
This week our break we'd booked !!

Just goes to show............don't plan a thing
Take life day by day
Cos if we say we'll do something
'Stuff' happens.........get in the way !!

So, by the weekend I would hope
Bill will be at peace
Paul Weller Live in Concert
One his sacred DVD !

And I can get my paint tin out
I've a cupboard much in need
Of a sort of fresh make-over
So for Friday that's my deed !

Must add........we've problems with the cat
She thinks a rugs her loo
Any rug in any room
Or corner...........that'll do !

I hardly dare to turn around
For fear what I might find
And this our week for relaxation
Rest and to unwind !

Fat chance - not a dull moment
Not us.........not meant to me
Quiet and boring ? Wish it was
Maybe tomorrow..........?? We'll see

Easter Sunday - we've had snow
The garden looked a treat
At least as good as anyones
Up and down the street.

Now the snow is melting
And hopefully will go
Never to come back again
Not this year............(don't like snow!)

Our week has not gone smoothly
Yesterday Bill lost his specs
They were inside the newspaper
Nearly recycled - he was vexed !!

Then when he went shopping
He bought himself some wine
On his way out the bag broke
Bottle smashed.............he pined !

The late last night the video
Seemed to be on the blink
The tape played but with no sounds
(Worn out tape methinks !)

We'll try it out again today
And hope the machines not bust
Cos I couldn't stand that all again
The mutterings and the fuss !

And this morning, on the kitchen floor
A dead bird, loads of feather
Which cat had brought this 'gift' for me
I doubt I'll know - not ever !

I'm painting my small cupboard
So far that looks ok
The suns shining -we've got blue skies
Looks like a nice day !

I just hope it can stay that way
No snow - no more stress or fuss
Or hiccups when things just don't work
I wonder - is it just us ?

We were sitting on the sofa
Talking about Easter eggs
He said I'm not buying one
I'm thinking of your head

Chocolate gives me migraine
My daughter it gives spots
Easter would not be the same
I wouldn't have eaten a lot

Easter Sunday came at last
My daughter got DVD's
Not a Easter egg was in site
What had he got for me ?

I'd already hatched a plan
When he handed me this thing
We had Easter eggs locked away
Not the same as an engagement ring

Mary, 'no it isn't just you'
Things, they happen to me too
I stubbed my little toe, it hurt
Boy did I swear, and ouch, and blurt

I was doing housework when it happened
Now, I'm feeling very saddened !
Cos MAYBE cleaning's not for me
T'was that put me in... .jeapordy

Three days ago when this occurred
And still I haven't found a word......
To best describe the pain I'm in
I feel like reaching for the gin

It wasn't a good day for me
Opened bedroom door to see
A pool of water on the floor
Of youngest daughter's boudoir

The radiator had sprung a leak
Just to add to my bad week.
Hubby.... was out earning a crust
I tried not to scream....to stay robust

But, there's only so much one can take
So I decided... for everyones sake
No more cleaning t'wasn't meant to be
I curled on the sofa with a cup of tea

So Mary for both you, and me
Surely the future can only be
Better than we've had of late
Though the weather..... it isn't great.

Now I'm aware, that housework's mean
I'm doing much less.....bu**er hygeine
There's more to life than dusters and brooms
Maybe my 'tree' house will soon have more rooms

Well, this Easter I got nothing
Not one chocolate egg
But can I really complain that much
Cos it's been two years since we wed !

I know it wasn't Easter then
(The date moves every year)
But its nearer enough to say to him
Who needs eggs.......I've got you dear !

Now Bill, he don't eat chocolate
And too much aint good for me
Cos I get headaches too star
So I'm best 'chocolate free'.

My grandkids this year didn't get eggs
Well, at least not from me
I headed for the Pick and Mix
At Woolworths.........oh so cheap.

I bought a type of small tool box
Filled each section with sweets
Flying saucers, jelly beans
Smarties and other treats.

So now thats Easter gone this year
Now the time will fly
Before we know it..........Christmas !!!!
Oh eck !!!...........more stuff to buy !!

Well this year I'm not worrying
The cost won't bother me
I'm getting stuff 'recycled'
Half the price that it should be !

Charity Shops - look out now
I'm buying up your stock
Throughout the year and filling up
Store it all in a box.

Then come August I'll sort it out
Work out who's having what
Gift wrap it, then thats Christmas done
While its summer, nice and hot !

Then when folk hustle and bustle
Round the stores and 'panic buy'
I'll watch through the cafe window
And see the world pass by.

Hasn't it been quiet
Since Chris has been away
Make the most of it if you can
You've only got one more day
Then the silence will be broken
She'll be back to stay
If you do not speak tonight
You might not get your say

Only joking Chris

Welcome back Chris -where you been ?
I wondered where you were
Flying off to sunshine land -
Old Blighty just a blur ?

Well good for you, what have you missed ?
We had a lot of snow
Plus rain and hail - a bit of sun
And those north winds did blow !

What else ? Well nothing really
Least I can't think off hand
Of anything exciting happening
In our green and pleasant land.

Maybe now that you''re back home
The sun will shine some more
But then we'll get the April 'showers'
The rain comes down - it pours !!

And don;t forget to change the clock
On Saturday.............lose some sleep
Will be like having jet lag
But you'll be fine this time next week
