No Mary i dont think they ever do ,

Moved myself , nice place but need sorting through

New floors been laid ,sitting room now ok

Kitchen though is oh sad, badly planned as well

Not my domain but that i neednt tell

Other was done just right , so here we go again

wonder how long before all done , heck its such a pain

No doubt it will all be sorted , but nice weather coming hopefully soon

Pity Stars fairy dust cant sprinkle down here and all done

As painting , cupboards out ,sink ect aint my kind of fun

Chris anywhere can be your home
You just have to make your mark
Might take years - it has for us
Twenty !!!! What a lark !

Rooms got repainted -not quite right
Furniture got moved
From one room to the other
In the hope things would improve.

For many years we did this
Dressers............we've had a few
And kitchen tables, 3 piece suites
How many ? Not a clue !

Just when it feels real comfy
What do we think we'll do ?
Have another change around
And move a thing or two !

It's not as if life's boring
Today the kids fell out
Boyfriends - girlfriend.......know the pattern?
My word, they did shout !!

She was crying - he stormed out
She ran out to give chase
I left them to it - made some cards
With cut outs and some paste.

All's quiet now thank goodness
For now, I'm on my own
Dust & hoover ? Don't think so
If I did.......wouldn't be my home !

This has to be a quickie
I've soon got to go out
Take one of our lads to see someone
So while no-one's about
I'd tell you 'bout my dear old Mum
Poor soul, she's well away
In the land of Fairies ? Cuckoos ?
Who knows but I have to say
She's having quite a good time
In her land that must be dreams
So been off on Safari
To Africa it seems.
Didn't like it there she said
Oh no.....was far too hot
This week she went to New York
Like it ? She did not !
'The folk are all fat there' she said
I'll not go there again
One sheet of paper in the loos !
And oh the bloomin trains !!
Oh no, that's not the place for me
The noise deafened my ears
I don't know when I last heard such a
Racket.............my word.....been years !!!

She's in a world all of her own
Poor old soul my Mum might be
But she's certainly going places
And whats more.........it's all for free !
And though she never seems to like
The places she has been
She laughs about it.........wonder where
She'll be off to next week ?

We've got an old pine kitchen dresser
Arrived at three today
First off we'd been told 'am'
But there'd been some delay.

Last night I cleared the old one out
Never seen so much stuff !
Things in drawers I'd long forgot
By nine I'd had enough.

I'd stuff in boxes, some in bags
All strewn across the floor
And in another cupboard
I stashed a wee bit more.

All this fuss and we didn't know
If this dresser would fit !
Bill measured it so carefully
And took a chance on it.

He had to take off the kitchen door
And move the old settee
And stuff from out of our 'junk room'
Where our old dresser will be.

I want to turn the 'junk room'
Into something it now aint
It's just a place to dump stuff
Like tools and tins of paint.

Maybe with out old dresser there
And a nice rug on the floor
It'll look, well, more like a room
Where stuff is 'nicely' stored.

The dresser came at three o'clock
I trembled at the knees
As in it came.......it took three men
And was quite a tight squeeze.

They moved out the old green dresser
Put the new one where it stood
And now everything feels different
Well, really I knew it would.

I unpacked my bits and pieces
Bless me..........half them don't fit !
The shelf sizes are the same
Too small for all my bits !

So back they've gone into a box
They'll do for a boot fair
Or freecycle, or anything
By now I just don't care !

It gives me justification
To go out to the shops
And spend and spend......well carefully
Just until I drop !!!!

I was sitting at the station
What did I hear
A stranger who was nattering
In my right ear.

I was sitting at the station
What did I feel
A hand gently glasping mine
Is what I did feel.

I was sitting at the station
What did I see
A smart and pretty woman
Smiling down at me.

I was sitting between strangers
When to speak I did not know
The hand it gently slid away
The Stranger she did go

This stranger has a photo
What does she see
an image not liked by her
Not the picture seen by me

I have met a stranger
What do I say
Believe whats in the mirror
Hide the photo well away

Next time I'm with two strangers
Give me courage to say
Hello to the other
Before she goes way

My boxes full of bric a brac
And books and a parasol
Have now been taken from my home
At a boot fair to be sold.

Or maybe ebay.....I don't know
Not do I really care
The girl who's taken them's in need
So to give them's only fair.

I hope she does ok with it
At first she said she'd pay
For what she just might hope to get
If she puts some on ebay.

'Oh no' says I 'Dont want a thing
It's just 'stuff in a box'
So she bought me a pot of daffodils
And a little box of chocs

Now at last I can see the floor
But there's always a downside
I'll have to get the hoover out
Now the muck and dust can't hide.

Oh deary me - it's not my thing
This housework lark..........no way
But I owe it to my poor carpet
To clean it up today.

It's put up with big boxes
And carrier bags galore
Covering up it's pattern
I could hardly see the floor !

And now my kitchen's tidy
With my pine dresser in place
And a new rug's now upon the floor
Taking pride of place.

Oh it all looks lovely
But how long will it last
Before I can't be bothered
As has happened in the past ?

We'll see, but just for now I think
I'll quite enjoy the clean
When I've written my name in the dust
Least I'll see where I have been !

Approach looking glasses with caution,
If you look in mirror take care.
A malicious old witch
Plays tricks on you, the bitch,
Staring out when your face should be there.

Her mission in life is to cause you distress,
To give you the maximum fright,
Don't gaze unprepared
Or you'll surely be scared
By the awesomely horrible sight.

For she's haggard and ugly and aged,
Straggly hair, tombstone teeth and bad skin.
Deep lines score her brow
Her cheeks sag, and I vow
There are hairs sprouting forth from her chin.

But look confident as you step up to the glass
Arrange your expression with care
Lift the chin, lose the frown
Add a smile, she'll back down,
Your reflection wil be showing there.

I can keep her at bay if my face doesn't droop
When I sneak a small glance as I pass,
For she's lurking there yet -
When at times I forget
She still leers at me out of the glass.

Brilliant Anny, it doesn't work so well with photos though.
