Oh bless yer VEL , just having friendly moan

Getting peeps to drop by so room not alone

Tired as you are, you popped by to drop us a line

Now just sit back and read for a time

Many a day i find reading them quite cheerie

At least our small room is always merry

Not long to go realy and cricket season will begin

Build your strength, up missing that for you is a sin

but many many thanks for dropping in xxxx

Now Vel you take it easy
Like you know you really should
And about this 'magic blood' -now
Tell me if its any good.

Cos I've not been myself of late
Could just be winter blues
That make me tired and stressed out
I keep looking for clues.

But there are none that I see
Are the cause of my depression
So I'm off to see a counsellor
On 7th, a half hour session.

Maybe to talk to someone
Will lift my heavy load
That I feel is on my shoulders
On an endless uphill road.

Oh dear, I do sound down and out
That wasn't what was meant
I popped on here to have a natter
Like you do when you're with friends.

So....here's the news in my house
Well really its next door
They're having a new kitchen
Don;t like theirs any more.

So me - I put my hand up
Your old units - can they be mine ?
I've got a junk room -needs sorting
Its really about time !

Theres such a mish mash in there
Gas boiler, fridge and drawers
All of assorted sizes
And a chunky oak sideboard.

Now that I'd really like to keep
But the rest, well they can go
My neighbour said ' they're yours
When you want them let me know'

I told Bill - first he panicked
Thought of all the work to do
But I was thinking more of painting
The walls a nice green hue !

The carpet on the floor in there
Is misery itself
But next boot fair I'll find a rug
Bill can put up some shelves.

And soon our little junk room
Will be a dumping ground no more
For anything and everything
To be chucked across the floor.

Well at least thats the general plan
Will it happen ? Well we'll see
I hope so........oh I really do
Then it'll be 'smiley face' for me !

I have been in, can't you tell
How the room is still dust free
And Anny's duplicate poem gone
By a fairy with the name of me

I think it must have been last year,
Maybe it was the year before
That I had difficulties here,
I'd type stuff but was never sure
How it would look upon the screen.
You were all using fancy fonts,
And colours, pink and blue and green,
I'd think ' thats what my verses want '
But couldn't make the colours change
So I was stuck with plain old black.
Nor spacing could I rearrange.
I think it was the apple mac
That I was using at the time.
If my poems weren't wise or witty
Or if they didn't really rhyme
At least I thought, they could look pretty
But it seemed t'was not to be.
And then, some mornings I logged on
To find someone was helping me
By night, and with the sun was gone
Leaving my verse transformd indeed,
Neat on the page and pretty too.
A good fairy ,we all agreed.
And ever since I've wondered 'who ?'
Who took the trouble in the night
When I'd logged off and gone to bed,
To make those verses look all right
Not scruffy now, but smart, instead ?
Well, now I think I've worked it out -
Starlight's verse includes a clue
The fairy doing good flying about
Starlight, without a doubt, was you !

It was two years ago
But the Mac can't be slagged
I learnt to write and colour posts
Opening and closing tags
Sadly this skill has long been forgot
But the knowledge that you taught me
Anny deffinately has not
So if a fairy should come in the night
It is time to pay back which only is right.

You're clever star...but this, today
Would even have you beat !
I had my new bus pass photo took
And I'm sure........it can't be me !!

It must be someone else...this face
So old ........with a bad hair day !
But the man said 'no......it's you my dear'
Gobsmacked.......didn't know what to say !

So now this face will loom at folk
On buses nation wide
But at least I will be travelling free
So it does have its plus side.

But if only, oh if only
My photo had come out right
With me looking .......well, like I think I do
Instead of such a sight !!

Oh well, maybe the driver won't notice
The wrinkles and the frowns
The greying hair and my wonky teeth
As I'm travelling around

And really, well, I shouldn't care
I won't...........I'll wear purple frocks
Have trainers with some flowers on
And maybe have stripey socks

I'll be that 'whacky woman'
They'll say 'poor soul...it's her age you know'
But when they pay their bus fare & moan
My bus pass I will show !!

I'm trying to have a clear out
I've stuff here that must go
So I stuck it on freecycle
Does someone want it ???..........No !!

Does no-one want my rubbish
My rolls of odd wallpaper
And borders and a tin of paint
Oh lor.......it's such a caper !!

I've got an old bike in the shed
Needs just a little care
The chains come off, and so's the wheel
But they're quite easy repairs.

I've given up - freecycle ???
I think I'll phone a friend
Who does boot fairs and e bay
Cos this clutter has to end !

I'd sooner give it to someone
Who'll take the bloomin' lot
I've had folk say 'I'll have it'
But collect it ? They do not !

Well least not, well not lately
Is my patience running thin
Maybe folk are out shopping
Not like me..........staying in !

But - sorry, I really can't wait
I've got to clear this mess
It's not just cluttering up my house
It's cluttering my head - I'm stressed !!!

I've found a flour bag, old....Bero
A german tea towl, old suet box
Why have I got these things around ?
Like the keys that don't fit my locks.

And now I've cleared a chest of drawers
So they're full up no more
Thats another thing on offer
Free to good home - old battered drawers !

Oh well, starting tomorrow
I'll go round, box in hand
From room to room -randomly clear
Stuff I bought but now can't stand !

And hope my friend picks up her message
Of all these goodies - free
Not only will it do help her out
It'll be a big favour to me !!

Starlight, I'm not sure what you meant to say -
Teach you ? Moi ? Well that'll be the day !
But if you mean that so you could explain
To dolts like me, and make it clear and plain
How these things work ,you had yourself to learn
A few small things, in order in your turn
To pass the knowlege on, I understand.
Although I 'd say that on the other hand
Computer minded and skilled as you are
I doubt that you had much to study, Star.
You and your alter ego know, I trust
That when you're moved to sprinkle fairy dust
And create magic on a starlit night
You're free to transform any verse I write.

Valentines Day, the sky's all grey
My house is still full of clutter
Bill promised he'd sort out his books
A reminder just made him mutter.

His boss said he was getting rid
Of a pine dresser - 'Oh' thought Bill
But the 'knock down' price that we'd thought
Is out of our price range still !

Poor soul looked so despondent
I said...........'oh silly you'
'Dont matter - we'll still have one
Instead of old pine we'll have new'

He grunted and then smiled a bit
Looked at the old one painted green
I said 'or I could repaint it ?'
But no..........we both agreed.

We really feel we need a change
Something nice and light
A fresh new look to our kitchen
Cos it all looks quite a sight !

So we'll start with a dresser
Put a smile upon Bill's face
The old one can go in out 'junk room'
It''s got plenty of space

Theres room for tools and tins of paint
And other kinds of stuff
Neighbours said we could have their old kitchen
But Bill said......'no -enough !'

To make them fit on our old walls
Would really be a trial
Bill said say 'thank you kindly
But no thanks..'........and he knows best !!

Cos he's the one who'd have to hang
The cupboards on the walls
And how long would that take him ?
If the job got done at all !

But how I wish things went as planned
Least how we'd like them to
But seldom seems to happen
For us...........does it to you ??
