Like Mary I only have three
But more are likely to come
So the presents around the tree
are growing and then some

Birthdays too are getting more
I have two coming this week
Little presents are called for
Finances definately looking bleak

Still to let them know we love them
Reckon that is the important thing
Despite the ages they are my little gems
Don't need to give bling bling

Don't give the secret away

The poet's room is empty
Apart from all this dust
When it comes to cleaning
Mary makes so much fuss.

Chris, you get the vaccum
While I move all the chairs
Anny you'll find the polish
In that cupboard over there.

The windows they need cleaning
The ashtrays need a scrub
Work a little harder Chris
You really need to scrub.

I will clean the mirrors
We should be done within the hour
Anny you can have the job
Of selecting some fresh cut flowers.

Now we need a new idea
To make our Mary laugh
All my ideas turn out to be
Nothing short of daft.

Now Vel may have the brains to help
If we can prize her away from cricket
A plan to lift our Mary up
May well be just the wicket.

Oh Star what have you done !
The Poets Corner will be gleaming
Clean mirrors, no dust and fresh flowers
Mary will think she's dreaming

But an idea to cheer our Mary up
That is really a tremendous ask
Now Bill I could cheer with cricket talk
But Mary is a much harder task

A new game - now there's a thought
But what - try as I may
To think of something to cheer our Mary
Upon her return to AA

Oh well looks as if
My brain has gone to sleep
But I am sure without a doubt
Mary will love the room when she takes a peep

Well Star you worked me so hard on all that cleaning

See Vel , now me brain tired, but room yes is gleaming

Must say Star what a smashing caring thought

But you know how stressful you get with me with all you taught

As of late a few more marbles ive caught

Im sure Shan took some,as she sent some she had bought

Remember ladies in chat how they rolled around

Or Mary was picking them up on the ground

well i gotta go for a well earned rest

Mary hope you like room , yuk cleaning did me best

I've added a picture
It's the best I could buy
Came from the charity shop
You can't say I've not tried.

Great idea Starlight, that's a very happy thought
To welcome Mary back into the fold
By cleaning up the place so she can linger, as she ought
In comfort, in a room not tired and old,
But a little poets' paradise, where inspiration flows
In an atmosphere that's fresh and clutter free
Where everything sparkles, and each polished surface glows
No dancing dustmotes now for her to see.

Well I've used all the polish, but I'm sure you won't mind
When you see how I've brightened the place.
Though I say it as shouldn't that room never shined
So until you put me on the case.
But as to the flowers, I'm afraid they must wait .
Nothing blooms in the garden today.
I can't go to the shops, they're all shut, its too late,
But I'll go in the morning, okay ?

I've been to the shops and bought some new mugs
Descaled the kettle and cleaned up the jug
I've sharpened the pencils and got a new bin
For Mary to put all her wastepaper in.
The vases are ready, I could not find Pairs
But Anny I've put out the best that are here
The sweet tin is empty no buisuits in sight
Could someone please sort this sometime tonight.

I hope, Star, you're pleased with the flowers that I chose,
I couldn't decide between lily and rose
And so I bought both, as you'll see.
Not regal white lilies, too formal for me,
But those with the centres tinged pink.
They call them 'Stargazer' or something, I think,
And their perfume is out of this world.
And when the white roses' tight buds are unfurled
I think they'll combine beautifully,
And I hope you and Mary agree.
That the vases aren't matching don't matter a jot
In fact as it happens I'm glad that they're not,
Being different, more interesting by far,
So they're perfect, you see, as they are.
