Poor you Mary,in the wars again

Trouble is its no fun m8 only pain

Well try your very best

Give your foot lots of rest

I remember twisting mine one time, brave i was not

Moaned ,groaned my family werent a happy lot

Also just to let you know all this time & papers still a mess

Is it 3-4yrs now ? one day, done , no more stress

Bet youre now all in order, coded ,filed and diary updated.

Me in order Chris ? You're joking
That'll be the day
When someone finds a system
And sends it up my way.

A system that arranges paper
Also sorts my brain
Cos that is where the problem lies
It's cluttered up again.

I clear my head and then my desk
Then a thought pops in my head
'I know - I'll do a file on Rushden
Where I was born and bred'

So off I go -googling again
To see what I can find
Photos and information
Of any sort and kind.

And now theres a new website
Devoted to my town
Well, there's no stopping me -I'm off
Poor Bill looks on and frowns.

I've books and files and plastic wallets
Full of important stuff
Will there ever come a time
When I say 'think that's enough' ?

Somehow I really doubt it
I'm a woman quite possessed
Hoovering ? Dusting ? They can wait
Along with all the rest..........................

Yesterday I was frustrated
Couldn't get on line
Kept getting 'Cannot find server'
The day before was fine !

I tried and tried on and off all day
But no luck, I gave up
Thought my computer had died on me
And thought enoughs enough !

I thought I'd better let folk know
So gave Mollie a call
Said 'Let folk know on AA site
I can't log on at all'

Now normally when I let folk know
Somehow it does the trick
And true to form, it worked again
I logged on with one click !!

Feeling somewhat a kind of fool
I thought I'd show my face
Having said I'm no on line today
There I was........my favourite place !

So peeps if you have problems
And your computers a bit 'iffy'
Just pop a message on the board
You'll be on-line in a jiffy !

Our Shan- you're back, it's been a while
I'm relieved I have to say
Maybe now you'll take from me
Finding a 'Thought for the day?'

I've missed you loads, you know that
But to find out what I've done
There's reams of poetry you've to read
And it ain't all been fun.

But you'll laugh when you read them
I chuckle to myself too
About my foot (that was last weekend)
And I'm giving no more clues !

I'll catch up with the gossip
Next time we have a chat
Don't make it too long -and from all AA
Our Shan mate.........welcome back !!

Oh and Shan, I have to let you know
With Pendereds you'll be spared
But William Knight's a mystery
So is Aunt Flo - what a pair !

Aunt Flo told Mum she was a Goosey
Before she married - but no
Her father was George Robinson
Told fibs did Auntie Flo !

And William, well it seems he left
For Australia..........a row with his Dad
Left behind his wife and children
Then his wife died........thats kind of sad.

Can't find our William anywhere
But names like that are plenty
I've searched and search but everywhere
There's never less that twenty !

But worry not, I'll not confuse you
With my family tree
Cos really I think you've got enough
Just understanding me !!!

Today its been so very cold
We even had some snow
Looks like winter's now arrived
And do I like it ? - No !!

It's more than chilly that's a fact
But cardi's -I've a lot
I'm gonna need them so it seems
Even indoors it's not hot !

Theres drafts coming through the window
And wind through the cat flap
(Well half a cat-flap if I'm honest
The 'flap' broke off - **** cats !

It wasn't ours - a great big thing
Had ventured from somewhere
And strayed into our garden
Our cats just looked and stared.

This giant of a creature
Sharp claws and tall arched back
Charged indoors through the cat flap
And the flap flew off - that was that !

But here in my computer room
It's really kind of snug
With my double glazing and radiator
I'm snug as a bug in a rug !

I've cardi's by the dozen
(Well, at least I've got a few)
Today I favoured a Beige one
Tomorrow...........maybe blue ?

I'm having second thoughts I think
Maybe winter's not that bad
I'm warm & cosy, long as I stay away
From the dreaded drafty cat flap !!

Apologies if I've spelt draft wrongly..............is it draught ???

Hi Mary, you can sit in the draft and play a game of draughts. I think

Today my poem's more than daft
As I am writing without a draft
We can't play draughts with all this draught
As Gordie dad would say, shut that draft.

Then maybe this will make you laugh
We could see Mary upon a draught.
