Really got the hump now
I know that Petals here
Why haven't you been to see me
Youv'e deserted me I fear

I'm all spruced up and shiny
Ieven swept my floor
but you haven't been to see me
Don't you care any more

I've waited all these lonely days
Some company I have had
but you haven't come to see me
the pics aren't all that bad

God Bless you all for caring
And its good to see you here
Brought a big lump to my throat
I almost shed a tear.

Jac you're poems are so good
And Anny - as always brill
Chris can't help but add her bit
That bit of space to fill.

It was really great to see my Mum
Better still to be back home
I've missed my lap top oh so much
And my mates here -every one.

I made a poem up on the bus
Now it's gone out my brain !
Can't quite remember it -maybe tomorrow
It'll all come back again.

So is this our new 'Poets Room'
I did get such a shock
All set to say a few choice words
The old one said 'Closed' - locked !

Oh I did have a panic
What was I to do ?
Had I been, well, booted out ?
I didn't have a clue.

Tears they welled into my eyes
Oh surely not.......not me ?
Boot me out into the cold ?
Where I would surely freeze ?

I thought 'My fate's decided
I thought that I was doomed
And the only rhyme that I could pen
Would be in the Word Games Room !!!

But not so.........now I found this place
(I trust that's it's ok
And that I'm not - well trespassing
While babbling away) !

Oh well, no harm done -is there?
Well, I'm here and that's that
You'll not shift me - no never !!!
No this silly daft old bat!.....................(couldn't think of anything
else that rhymed.......lol)

Oh eck..............and I;m supposed to cooking dinner

I wondered what was happening
On disk ? My word.........my words !
And other members who have rhymed
Some perfect................some absurd !

Whatever sort of stuff we write
It's just the place to be
To let of steam or have a moan
When we're stuck on Family Trees.

I've hit so many brickwalls
That's left me with headaches
Then just when I give it up
Up pops a George or Jake !

But if I get too excited
Thinking I'll find gold and wealth
(Or at least hoping I just might)
Rhymes restore my mental health !

Potty,? daft bat,? proper nutter?
Barmy,? off my trolley ?
With an obsession with cardigans
(Latest one bright red.......quite jolly !)

I'm all these things - I admit it
Do I care ? Not a jot !
Life might have ups and lots of downs
But I'm happy with my lot !

The bit of brain that deals with rhyme
Has slumbered now for quite some time
But roused itself this afternoon
While I was walking - none too soon.
Pleased though I was to feel again
A sense of rythm in my brain
No words to fit it could I find,
No subject matter came to mind,
So I walked on with rythmic tread,
And hummed a little tune instead.
But later, logging on the site
To see who'd written what tonight
I came across a post from Chris,
A brand new poetry room - what bliss !
A ' special ' room for us to use,
To let off steam, or to amuse
With anecdote , at length or terse,
Or to inform, but all in verse.
And there's my subject, to be sure,
I need to rack my brain no more
I 'm very pleased indeed to say
A word or two on its first day.
And thankyou, Chris , I'll try to pen
A few words for it for it, now and then.

Oh Anny - I can't follow that
You're really very good
And I've a house of teenagers
So not quite in the mood.

The music's loud - a racket
I've threatened a small hammer
It seemed to work -just for a while
Then back came this strange grammar.!

Hurtling down the stairs it came
The noise drowned out the sound
Of silence I was so enjoying
(not much chance when theyre around)

I'd said if they were coming round
They'd got to work for me
(One lad is homeless -the other?
Well at college he should be)

The homeless lad -he got stuck in
Painting my wall like crazy
Our lad tidied his bedroom
College boy? He's just lazy!

So he's gone home -the paints run out
Our lad's sorting his folder
For another college interview
Says he should -cos now he's older.

He's sixteen and should now grow up
He said -but I'm not sure
So we'll see ...........trouble is with him
We've heard it all before.

The homeless boy -he did so well
So he's stopping for tea
If I pay him he'll just waste it
So I said he can have tea.

He said 'Oh thankyou very much'
I said 'Oh no.....thank you
For painting out that bedroom
It was too much for me to do'

So these kids - well they're not bad
In fact they can be fun
But College Boy who's just bone idle
Well he's gone to plague his Mum !

Today was Farmers Market Day
(Bit expensive I thought)
Nevertheless there were some things
That just had to be bought.

Some nice strong cheese-specially for Bill
Some weird teas for my son
He likes to have organic stuff
And these are...........every one.

Violas..............some lilac some red
Fourteen for two quid !
Now that's a bit more like my price
So get them bought I did !

I popped them to the local pub
Thought Bill could bring them home
Then went on to the Charity shops
Got a brown skirt - I've got one !

Spotted some wooden roses
Dusky pinks and browns
Pound the bunch - I got them quick
In Lincoln one's a pound !

A loaf of bread, meat pie and veg
Then to the pub I went
To dump my shopping have a coffee
And work out what I'd spent !

Got chatting to a friend in there
Then booked my taxi back
Got back, sorted out shopping
I'd gained an extra bag !

It seems while busy gossiping
In an absent frame of mind
I'd picked up her bag - she'd been swimming
Two towels and facial wipes !

I rang the pub but she'd gone home
Seems she's as bad as me
I picked up her bag unaware
While she'd gone home - bag-free !!

I wonder when she'll realise?
If she's anything like me
It won't be till she needs her towels
About this time next week !
