Hi Gillian,

Hopefully you have some spare credits left...

I'm after Edward A Parker, rank QMS, Royal Artillery.

Wife, Alice Parker and five children.

My mother was about 18 months old when they left the UK, making their departure about 1909, destination either S/A or India, before arriving in Oz 1913.

Many thanks for your kind offer,
Mardi.

Hi Mardi - sorry about the delay in responding - I missed seeing your post.
Could you tell me the names of any of the children?

Hi Gillian,

Maybe they are more difficult to trace because they left with a British contingent and perhaps that would be listed 'differently' to ordinary passengers ? ?

I do have their arrival in Melbourne, onboard the Mooltan, in 1913 so at least I have some info on them.

Even worse than the voyage with five little ones is that they were all born in different army camps, my Mum being born in Shornecliffe and baptised three weeks later in Newcastle on Tyne....Poor Grannie.

Thanks so much for looking for me Gillian, I really appreciate it.

Mardi.

Hi Gillian,

Could you look up Edward and Elsie Pedersen (nee Brown) please. They would have travelled to Vancouver between June 1818 - Sept 1819. Edward was in the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals and they may or maynot have travelled together.

Thanks for looking Gillian,

Have you any idea if the lists of those in the forces would be listed somewhere seperately ? My grandparents were married in June 1818 in Sussex and my mother was born Sept 1919 in Vancouver. I believe my grandmother was in the N.F.F.I at this time also.

Hi Gillian,

I just found your offer (and this site) while doing a Google search, so I wonder if you can help me. Going back and forth between findmypast and the Canadian archives, I've found the people I'm looking for on the findmypast passenger list... I just can't see the details. (Need to purchase units, I guess). Is that what you are offering to do? If so, my people are listed as the WESTR? family: Hugh Geo WESTR? and four others. They seem to have travelled on the Royal Edward from Bristol to Halifax (Canada) in 1912. Would you be able to tell me the date of the voyage? I'm trying to read through the images of the Canadian lists but they're really hard to read, so I'm trying to narrow down which one I should be looking at.

Thanks.
Karen
