Hi Loz,
I am trying to find the death/buriel of my great grandfather Charles Poole. He was born c 1841. He was a soldier in 8th Kings Regiment c1861 not sure when to. My grandmother's marriage cert gives him deceased in 1887, and a Brass Castor, but have had no luck finding this death. I am presuming that it will be Sheffield. He is not on 1871 census with his wife who was in Sheffield at that time. Regards, Calmar ![]() |

Hi Calmer,
On the free BMD site there is a Charles Poole who died at the age of 40 recorded in the March Quarter of 1886 in Sheffield. This is likely to be him but finding the burial place is a different matter. Which part of sheffield did they live in? Lois |

Hi Loz,
It suppose it could be him. I say that because I can't find a marriage for him and Ann but Ann went on to 'marry' someone else by 1881 census and they had more children, but Ann's 2 were with her calling themselves by the new husband's surname. PS. What is the other one you mention. Calmar ![]() |

I am familiar with Heeley. My parents lived there.
Ann's parents, George and Ann Wright lived in Pitsmoor 1851,61 & 71. OK, who is the other rellie? I wouldn't know if there were any with Charles as he and Ann had split and I am not sure where he was born. My grandmother, Alice Poole his daughter to Ann, didn't leave any clues and all other rellies have passed on so I can't ask. More's the pity. This man is giving me a headache. M ![]() |
