Leicestershire Phillimore Marriage Records 1560- 1837 excluding Leicester

HI I was told by gillian that you may be able to help me, you see I am looking to see if some of my DARBY ancestors came from walton on the wolds. so far I have gotten to

THOMAS DARBY b abt 1764 (not sure where he was born) he married ANN WILD the 15 sept, 1782 in barrow upon soar leicestershire. I was always thinking that THOMAS came from barrow upon soar but from having it brought up that maybe he was born elsewhere and he married

in barrow upon soar because his wife was from there, so maybe he was born (I HOPE) in walton on the wolds.

I have from 1782 onwards alot of DARBY'S in my tree from barrow upon soar but from 1782 -1500's I have no idea where they came from.

I hope you can help me.

I only have access to the Marriage registers, so would not show if a Thomas Darby was born in Walton on the Wolds. I did look in the register but there were no Thomas Darbys mentioned The problem is Darby is a fairly common name and there are lots especially in Scalford parish. Sorry not to be more help

Hello again, well thank you for looking for me. but i was wondering if there are ANY DARBY'S that married in WALTON ON THE WOLDS and I have found a place named WALTON also. Are they the same place??

Would be able to tell me if some DARBY'S married there please.

The only Darby mentioned in the marriage register for walton on the Wolds is Libius Darby, son of Francis Darby married Mary Nome 16th October 1598.



I do not live in Leicester so am not sure if there is another place called Walton.
