Hi Gillian

Could I ask for a look-up please!

I'm looking for the marriage of a John Green and Elizabeth before 1816. Unfortuntely I don't have the brides surname

I have the baptism of a Thomas Green 11 Mar 1816 at Kingswinford, parents John & Elizabeth Green of Summer Hill, so hoping they married at the same church before this date

Thanks again in advance

Hi EC23
Sorry - the only John Green marriage at the right time is to Esther Robinson in 1810

Hi Gillian

I know that my great grandmother is buried in St Mary's. Unfortunately the only information that I have is that her surname is Carr. As my grandmother was born in 1904 her death will be after that date (we got dob from death certificate). Can you help? Thank you.

With best regards

Lynne

Hi Lynne - the resources I have don't cover dates that late. It might be possible to track her down through the statutory registers/census though. What was your grandmother's name - and do you know the names of any of her brothers or sisters?

Hi Gillian
I am new to researching my family history and to Ancestry Aid and I think I may have inadvertently posted your Thread again when trying to send you the message below! Apologies if you have already received this request.

I am unsure whether you have details of burials at St Mary's? I know my great grandmother is buried there but I don't even know her first name. Her death must have been after 1904 when my grandmother was born (we found this on her death certificate).

If you do have this information and its not too difficult to search could you look and see what you can find for me or maybe point me in the right direction? We do know the grave is near to a wall!!

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Gillian

Thanks for such a quick reply. Unfortunately I have very little information - no first name and no names of siblings. I also have no information on my great grandfather. As my great grandmothers burial was the only reliable information that we have I thought this might be best place to start.

If my great grandmother was buried in Kingswinford would that mean she died there and what county would that be post 1904 - do you know?
But I'll have another plough through the BMD's on Ancestry.
Thanks again.

If she's buried there it's very likely (but not certain) that she died there.
The registration district would be Stourbridge. Kingswinford was in Staffordshire (now West Midlands) but Stourbridge registration district came under Worcestershire (just to confuse you - and me - thoroughly)
To be realistic I think you need to get your grandmother's birth certificate which will give her mother's name - otherwise even if you find anything likely you won't be certain.
Once you have got that I am sure someone will be able to help you search further.

That's brilliant Gillian and at least provides me with another place to start searching. I am so impressed that there are others out there happy to help. I have been sat at home on my own not knowing what to do next and just by accident came across AncestryAid. All the best. Lynne

Hi Gillian

I am looking to trace the birth of a Solomon Little, and any details about his siblings/parents

I have his marriage certificate that shows he was married in 1855 when he was of "full age." The certificate shows his father was also called Solomon. He was living in Sheffield Street, Quarry Bank at time of marriage.

I know that there was another Solomon Little born in that area around the same time - but his parents were Joseph and Selvia.

Any help you can give would be much appreciated

Thanks
