Hi Pauline, could you look up Gores for a john dawson Master mariner. His son was born c1817 in Liverpool. I have found him in Redcross st in 1827 but where was he around 1821. Thankyou Jill

Hi Jill,

These are the only John Dawson's in 1821

John Dawson (Merchant) 4, Lodge Lane
John Dawson (Victualler) 46 Fontenoy Street
John Dawson (Spirit Dealer) 15, Whitechapel and Hood Street
John Dawson (Grocer) 10, Garden Street.

I am unable to check 1822 as I seem to have cleared the disc by accident. I have amended my original thread to show this. Hope this is of some use to you.

Hi Nanna,
Thank you for looking. I have found several John Dawson's in Liverpool but it is very hard to connect them to his son Abraham Dawson. I have the Marriage certificate that gives his father as John Dawson Master Mariner in 1856, I know Abraham was born in Liverpool c1817 possibly Christened at St James but I am not sure where the family originated.

No Thomas Drury, I'm afraid but there were the following:

12, Castle Street. Drury & Wilde, (Cutler's) Scale-Beam-Makers, and Wholsale Hardwaremen.

7, King Street, Soho, L.Pool.
William Drury (Cutler)

Is there a connection?

Hi Nanna, would it be possible for you to check the address below and see what dates Ann & Mena lived there,
I'm looking for any information about Wilhelmina Hendricka Lucas Smart, born 1876 - mother Ann was a domestic servant, and they lived at 19 Othello Street, Kirkdale. "Mena" went to Kirkdale Industrial School, and left Kirkdale at the age of 10 (an orphan?) to come and work in the cotton mills in Yorkshire. Mena married in 1896, and died in 1959. I'm unable to find either her or her mother in the 1881 census. Any ideas as to where I can look would be appreciated.
