I have a reference to 22 Pit Street in Liverpool in an old family book.
The reference was written after 1813 (from other dated entries) so I was wondering if there was anything in the 1822Gores directory for this address.
Thanks
Anne
Hi Anne,
Could you give me a name and a possible occupation, to work with?

Thank you
Nanna

Hi
The name I am researching is Rigby.
However, the address reference was just one that I found written in a recipe and account book. There is also a reference to 22 Princes Street Liverpool.
Some of the other information in the book seems to refer to (possibly) the work of an undertaker or carter- the names John Pilkinton (sic)and John Partenton (sic) Robert Bleclidg (sic)are mentioned - together with the charges they have incurred for services.
I may be barking up completedly the wrong tree - the majority of my family are traced to the Chorley/Croston area - but I was intrigued by the Liverpool address.
Many thanks
Anne

Hi Anne,
I have checked both 1821 and 1822 Directories and am sorry to say there is no mention of a John Pilkinton/John Partenton or Robert Bleclidge listed either as an occupation or at either of the address's you have named, sorry.
There is a John Pilkin(g)ton (a bricklayer) listed at 52, Chisholm Street.
There was no numerical listings of either of the Streets mentioned.
If you need any more help please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Pauline,

I would be grateful if you could look somebody up for me in the 1938 directory if possible. I have a Merchant Seaman's book covering 1935 to 1939 for Edward Robert Harris. There are two addresses in the back:
59 Hornby Boulevard, and
116 Linacre Road
both Litherland, Liverpool 21.
If you could find him I would love to know who else was living at the same address. He was my husband's grandfather but his father knows very little about him.

Many thanks,

Gill

Hi Gill,
Although my thread is now open again, I'm sorry I am unable to check the above at this time. I have damaged my original CD (see my amendment to original thread) and have ordered a replacement, so will let let you know as soon as possible.
