he is listed in the 1832 poll book as DAWSON,JOHN,SHIPWRIGHT,GRAFTON STREET,TOXTETH PK.,S & D
should say i hvent a clue what S&D meant!
I think his parents were ?Dawson B 1770 D bef 1841 and Jemima B 1774 D aft 1841 his brotheres were william 1805 henry 1806 lofthouse 1811 and richard1816

just wondering if anyone can shed more light on this family particulalrly earler in 1790-1840

Would appreciate the following look ups if posssible in Liverpool city directory 1936/1938.

James Purcell, basket maker, possibly on living on Kingslake St.

John/Jack Purcell (seaman).

The Liverpool School for the Blind.

Nanna - thank you so much for your speedy reply. From what you found I guess James Purcell moved down to London in late '37 or early '38. While in Liverpool he taught basket making at the Liverpool Blind School, before moving to London. Thank you again, really appreciate it.
