Hi Nanna
I'm not sure if thats your name but here goes. I am looking for an old public house called "QUEENS VAULTS" that was sittuated at 49 WHITEFIELD ROAD, EVERTON, LIVERPOOL. I would like to no what happend to it and to the couple a Richard Johns and an Ivy Johns "nee" Davison that took it over in 1938. I think that they moved to Warrington a few years later, they had 3 children I am also interestd in them as they all could be reletives. |

I'm not nanna, but your posting came to me.
'38 is 12 months before my birth but I was born a few hundred yards from the 'Queens' and remember it in the '40s '50s & '60s. It was the corner of Newlands St. and Mary Brown had it in 1949. I do know that all that area has been redeveloped and the pub has, probably, gone. Don't know anything about the folk you mention. Jim |

Hi Kreng,
Sorry you have had to wait for a reply, I've been trying to find out some info for you. I have checked 1938 Gore's/Kelly's Directory and there was a John Johns listed at the Queen's vault's 49 Whitefield Road Liverpool. I am unable to help as to what happened to the vault's after this time, partially because it's in the north of the city and I live in the south side of the city, I can confirm that it's no longer listed in the current telephone directory. I am sorry that I'm unable to assist you this time, but if you need any more help, please don't hesitate to ask. Nanna |

Hi Nanna
I found this thread after a google search. Would you please be able to look up a William George MacKenzie in the 1911 Street directory? He was a grocer/shop owner in Scotland Street in the 1910's-1920's. On his fathers death certificate he also has his address as 231 Netherfield St Nth, Liverpool in 1892. Cheers Darryl |

Hi Pauline
Are you able to lookup "PALMER" in the Liverpool directories? There are a bunch of them. Fathers and sons. They were "Dancing Masters" from about 1760 to 1850. At one point they were at 52 Chatham Street, 9 King St. Soho..... Thank you SO much!! Linda Toronto, ON CANADA |
