I'm sorry there is no listing for Edward Robert Harris in the directory for 1938.
Have checked the address's you gave and found the following:

59 Hornby Boulevard - John Prescott (Blacksmith)
116 Linacre Road - William Ross Ltd (Fruiterers)

I noticed that you are offering to do look ups for several years in the Gores directory.

I would be very grateful if you could look up a William Taylor and Agnes Taylor living somewhere in the Bootle area during 1921.

This is my first request so I hope I do it right!
I am trying to trace my grandfathers parents. I have his marraige certificate which states he lived at no 16 Roscomon Street, Liverpool (dated 12th January 1928). His name was Walter Donald Smith.
The certifacate states his father as Walter John Smith, deceased.
As my grandfather was born in 1907 his father could have died between these two years (1907_1928).
There is no mention of his mother and we have no name for her.
Do the directories say who was actually living in the premises and what the relationship is?
Any info would be very much apreciated thank you.

Have checked 1911 Liverpool Directory, which is the nearest I have to the date you quoted and found the following:

William Taylor - 28 Oxford Road, Bootle (Engineer)
william Taylor - 9 Benedict Street, Bootle (Manager)
William Taylor - 4 Grimshaw Street,Bootle (Teanowner)
William Henry Taylor - 10 Roby Street,Bootle
William John Taylor - 14 Middlesex Road,Bootle

All Directories list only the head of each household, so I am unable to say which if any of these is your's and whether Agnes is there also, sorry.

You say you have your Grandfathers marriage certificate, do you also have his birth certificate? I have checked BM&D's and couldn't find a registration for him,you will need a copy of this to confirm who his Mother was. Once you have this a check on the relevant forum's will be possible for your Great Grandparent's marriage and any Cencus Returns.

Hope this all helps with your research.

Hi Nana, Thanks for your help so far. Is it too cheeky to ask if (Nana) McCard and siblings were at this address at the dates given (1907-1928).
I forgot to mention that the church holding grandads records was bombed out and all records destroyed !!!
OH and could the names be the other way around ie:. John Walter (G.G.Grandfather) and Donald Walter (grandfather)?
