I am tracing my mothers tree at last she would never talk about her family so I new very little but at last im on a roll I hope. I have a John Akers married to a Lucy I dont know if they married in Chipping Norton or not but would you check for me? I know their children were born in Chipping Norton I have the following if you would kindly look them up for me.

William 1829
Sarah 1832
Edwin 1835
Arthur 1838
Mary 1840
Elizh 1844
Edward 1837
Elizabeth 1856
I dont know how close the dates are I got them from the census.

My gr grandmother was Ruth Launchbury, b 1857 in Little Rissington,Glos, then lived in High St, Burford, Oxon, believe died 1937. I would be interested to know where she died and was buried, was it in Burford? Any help would be much appreiated.

hi diane, i think i have some ancestors in oxon, surname owen, around barford st michael and sulgrave which was in oxfordshire at one time i believe, regards wiredog

I can't find any marriage in Chipping Norton for John and Lucy, but have found baptisms for some of the children.

John bapt. 17 Jun 1827 Chipping Norton.

William bapt 12 Jun 1829 Chipping Norton. Married Ann Harris 30 Apr 1853 in Enstone, can find baptisms for 4 children again in Enstone Edward Thomas 1859, William 1863-1863, William Henry 1867 & Jane Anne 1871.

Sarah bapt 17 Dec 1831 Chipping Norton. Married James Smart 18 Oct 1852 in Enstone.

Thomas bapt 1 Mar 1845 Chipping Norton & buried in Enstone on 31 May 1898.

Mary Ann married George Walton Fellowes 9 Nov 1858 in Enstone.

Edward married Mary Ann Arling 12 Dec 1867 in Enstone. He was buried 3 Aug 1912, she was buried 14 Oct 1929 both in Enstone.

Arthur born abt 1838 buried 10 Mar 1913 in Enstone.

John Senior was buried 20 Nov 1878 aged 79 in Enstone.

Lucy died in Chipping Norton Workhouse and was buried 5 Apr 1887 aged 83 in Enstone.
