    Default Blackburn, Lancashire

I work very close the the central library in Blackburn. If anyone requires any records from there let me know. I use it on a regular basis, they hold burial records for both major cemeteries, school attendance records, newspapers and electrol roles and tradesman directories.

    Regards

    David.

I cant say that I've ever needed to look those up at the library (so I'm not sure). http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/ has never let me down, and obviously ancestry.co.uk too.

    Hi David,

Lancashire BMD doesn't cover the dates I am after. I have seen a couple of possibles on Ancestry. It isn't really important or I would have taken chances on the certificates.

They do have a collection of BMD's at Blackburn Library called St Catherine's House index. Im not sure what dates it covers, but if you let me know what you are looking for I'll see what I can do.

    Regards

    David.

    Hi

Please could you look at a birth for me?

John Taylor born: 15 July 1821 Blackburn Parents: John & Martha Taylor

Was his father a Dyer by occupation?

I am trying to find my Gt.Grandfather's birth. The only info. was on 1861 census on which it states he was born in Blackburn.

On his marriage certificate to Eliza Parkes in Middlesex, London was that his father was a Dyer by occupation & named John Taylor.

My Gt.G/F was known as Thomas Taylor but I believe he was John Thomas. All his children always had their second names on the census forms & not their first names even after their father died in 1869.

    Thank you so much

    Jelli
