Hi Louise
I have taken the Haycock family back to 1750 in the Rugeley area. Do there appear to have been many Haycocks in the records that you hold?
Many thanks,
Robinetta
Hi Robinetta
I had a lok and never came across any Haycocks there is quite a few Haydocks from 1569 to 1647 i thought maybe the spelling of the name may of changed as that is something i keep coming up against from 1650 onwards their is Haddock which i dont know if it is the same family but spelling changed if these are of any use to you i will send them on.

Hi again also the lady i got the register from went to Rugeley and went through the registers and she said alot is missing either torn out or so badly faded that you cant read it which seems to be the case with my gt.grandfather x5 who i know was born about 1770 but he is not on the register although his possible siblings and parents are it is very annoying

Hi Louise
Thank you so much for looking and if it is not too much trouble I would love the information about both Haydock and Haddock. It is helpful that you let me know that some records are missing, always worth knowing these things. Good luck with the search for Gt Grandfather x5.
Many thanks in anticipation,
Kind regards,
Robinetta

Hi Louise
Great information. Really appreciate your time.
Kind regards,
Robinetta
Hi Louise,
I'm so glad I found this forum because I'm directly related to the Haycocks of Rugeley and the information on the possible name change from Haydock to Haycock may well explain why I was unable to locate any of the Rugeley Haycocks prior to the 1700's.
This gives me some fresh avenues to explore and many thanks for your consideration, time and effort.
Kind regards
Adrian
Hi Adrian
Your welcome if you need anyting else from the Rugeley parish record up to 1722 let me know
Louise
Hi Louise,
Many thanks for your kind offer and I'm wondering if you could check for the surnames of Brockhouse and Wootton on the Rugeley parish records.
I've managed to trace my direct ancestors to Rugeley parish:
Benjamin Haycock born abt 1783 married Sarah Brockhouse born abt 1786
Thomas Haycock born abt 1749 married Sarah Wootton born abt 1750
Thomas Haycock was the father of Benjamin Haycock but no idea who the parents of Sarah Brockhouse and Wootton were.
Any help would be great.
Kind regards
Adrian
