    Default Marriage Index for Cheshire

I have a copy of MERRELL cheshire marriage index listing marriages in most Cheshire parishes from the late 1800s back(in some cases) to the 1500s and I am willing to do looks ups from the CD for anyone who wishes to provide names. It is not a COMPLETE index but you may just get lucky!!!

    Hi

wonderif you could be so kind as to do a look up for me. i have hugh byron marrying ann keaton in St Peter, prestbury cheshire in Aug 1839. i have seen the parish register for this.

Hugh in later census says he is born in 1818 in withington, chesire. his marriage entry says his father is called John - a farmer, but i cannot find his baptism.

Similarly ann keaton says she is born 1818 in congleton, chehsire. her father is james - a joiner but i cant find her baptism either.

any help in locating their parents would be much appreciated.

    many thanks

    Hello Sadies,

I've just started research and would be grateful for a bit of help.I'm interested in finding the marriage details of my GGG Grandfather,Joseph Woodcock, who married Gwynne Jones on 25/04/1831.

At that time they were living at Dodleston,Cheshire and I would expect the marriage to have been close.Gwynne came from Dinas Mawddwy, just over the border in north Wales.

    Regards,Tony.

Hi Tony, Sorry but i couldnt find the marriage that you are looking for. It doesnt mean that the marriage didnt take place as the index is incomplete, or maybe the marriage took place just over the border. Regards Sheila

HI ; Afraid i cannot find a marriage between John Botham and Ann Goolden , Stockport and Ringway fall in the early 1880s in Lancashire, not Cheshire. Regards

Hi im sorry but i cannot find a marriage between John Botham and Ann |Golden. I did find a marriage of john Botham and Ann Bradford , Stockport 2/03/1801. Unfortunately both Stockport and Ringway would probably have come within Lancs and not Cheshire . Sorry i couldnt be of more help, but my cd only covers Cheshire and even then not all marriages. Regards Sadie
