Kimberlynn dont be too sure about things not happening in those days as you put it. More things went on back then but went under cover and hidden up. Today things are more in the open and more excepted but not so back them. The marriage I found for you was 1826 and if your John was born around 1819 then why cant it be your Edward. You see he married an Ann which is also a name in your family. Dont be too quick to say NO but keep all info to one side. As I thought Gosley Shull could be a street name. It happened to me and for almost two years I thought my Great Grandparents came from a place in Devon called Woodstock. I had so many people on the search for this Woodstock which didn,t exist. About three months ago I was looking through the Census for my Great Grandmothers family and Bingo the name of the street where they lived was Woodstock. Welsh Lady has turned up something for you so look into it. I wont give up the saecrh for you as from where I stand you want the Census dont you for 1841. This is a hard one.

Kimberlynn I found another marriage for you for the year 1815 Edward Sephton. It does not record the brides name but here are the details from Family Search.. You did make mention of the different way in which the surname could be spelt so....

Kimberlynn you stated Elizabeth first wife died 1n 1840 and that you have the Marriage Cert for John and Sarah so before I go any further when were they married. Month and year please. If they married in 1841 then perhaps it was after the Census were taken. I have a Census Book which gives me all the months for the years. I will wait now until I hear back from you.

Kimberlynn the 1841 Census were taken on the 7th June so John and Sarah were not married then. Ok at least that one is sorted out so now we have to look for them both. I will have a look tonight. John would be down as Widow maybe? Also you have to keep in mind that Johns son may not be with him for 1841 and could be with his Grandparents or another family member. It would have been very hard for a man in those days to raise a child alone. He would have to have support from the family.

The 1841 Census Kimberlynn were not always correct with ages. I am unable to read the Street name where Sarah was living. Looks like Cowofley Street?

Hello Kimberlynn,
I dont know if Sarah was in service as the Census dont state anything for profession. This maybe John Edward staying with family. I came across this one the other day.
Have you checked that tree out Welsh Lady told you about? I think you should as it may hold some of the answers you are searching for. The 1841 Census dont give too much info out about a person and there are a great deal of Sephtons in the Lancashire area. I think this is about as far as I can go in helping you Kimberlynn.
