Thread: Hampshire BMD's updated

I have access to BMD's for most parishes from 1780-1812 a few go beyond these dates especially those listed below.

Chilworth
Baptisms 1721-1812, 1814-1956
Marriages 1721- 1800, 1816-1836
Burials 1721-1812

Newtown
Baptisms 1850-1904
Marriages 1850-1982
Burials 1850-1950

Otterbourne
Baptisms 1647-1856
Marriages 1647-1812
Burials 1647-1812

Soberton
Baptisms 1546-1879
Marriages 1540-1887
Burials 1539-1858

South Stoneham
Baptisms 1780 -1897
Marriages 1780 -1812
Burials 1780 -1812

I also have Phillimore's marriage records - volumes 1-16 which cover a large number of parishes. Please give the name of the parish if possible.

I am looking for the birth or christening of john bennett born in Romsey Hants. on the 1841 he was put down as 2 on the 1851 he was a 11. i believe his mum and dad were james and maria bennett. if i am correct i will then need to find out when james and maria got married also romsey area

Hi Marionjean,

These are just single parishes that I have. Romsey is a whole registration district. John's birth should be on the statutory registers as they commenced in Sep 1837. I'm sorry, Romsey marriages are not on the marriage disc.

I've had a quick look on free bmd & ancestory without any luck.

thanks any way starlight for looking for me. it could have been nursling and upton that john was born but again i am not sure
