Thread: Look-ups in Australia

Hi, I have BDM for all Australian states for years available on CD. Also Convicts to Tasmania, Charles Bateson convict ships to Australia, Australian Family History Bibliography, Carr Villa Cemetery Launceston, Tasmania, several cemeteries in Victoria & New South Wales & a few more on Australia. Happy to do look-ups but need to know which state if possible.

I m looking for the details of an 1884 QLD marriage between

John Frederick CHURCHWARD and Elizabeth Annie CHARLTON



Particularly interested in proof of the parents of the above John Frederick



Seems two John Fredericks, both from Devon decided to emigrate to Maryborough QLD (boy would I like a lottery ticket on those odds)





Ones parents are

William CHURCHWARD and Tamzin PINKHAM/PINKCOMBE



and the others are

Abraham CHURCHWARD and Johanna PARNELL





One John Frederick died in 1929 and the other 1945/6

I am not sure what I did wrong, but all of a sudden the reply I was writing was gone!!



There is no parent info on the BDM Qld cd for the marriage of John Frederick Churchward & Elizabeth Annie Charlton & my cd`s only go to 1914, so can`t tell you anything re the deaths in 1925 or 1945/6.



The info I had already written for you was a list of the children of John Frederick Churchward & Elizabeth Annie Charlton. All were between 1885 & 1892. Did you get that information?

They may have had more children, but after 1914, so I don`t have them.



There is a death record for TAMZIN CHURCHWARD D.12TH JUNE 1913/B017688 father JOHN PINCKCOMBE mother ELIZABETH ROOKE.

Did your JOHN FREDERICK have a brother or relative GEORGE? Seems quite a coincidence that JF had a son in 1892 & named him SIDNEY FREDERICK & then GEORGE CHURCHWARD had a son in 1912 & named him SIDNEY FREDERICK PERCY CHURCHWARD?

I have not found a death pre 1914 for WILLIAM CHURCHWARD nor have I found any further reference to ABRAHAM or JOHANNA CHURCHWARD.



Did your JOHN FREDERICK arrive with his mother or any siblings?

I haven`t done a thorough search of ALL the CHURCHWARD connections on my cd`s, so if any of this is your family, please let me know & I will go through them in even more depth & see what other connections I can find.

Yes I agree, coincidence is getting to me here...I find it very strange that 2 John Fredericks both born in DEV would decide to come to AUS never mind to Maryborough and even worse the names repeated in both lines match those repeated generation after generation....at the very least there must be some connection between the two



JF had a son in 1892 & named him SIDNEY FREDERICK

this one belongs to my John Frederick .....if you accept William as his father and not Abraham

and Eliza age 3 (should read Ellen)

no John Frederick... so did he come with "his parents William and Tamzin"

I have both lines done, so I understand them both.

My friend is convinced that Abraham is the father and I lean towards William but hey, one is a person just doing Genealogy and then these me who wants proof...hehehe

Guess the only way is to get the marriage cert for John and Elizabeth Annie CHARLTON

Also a burial of Thomas Pargeter Foster who died 24th December 1884 in Sydney, New South Wales.

This is from the NSW Pioneer Index. There are no christening listings for either girls, just their births.

I only have 2 cemetery cds for Sydney, MacQuarie Park & Rookwood & unfortunately Thomas Pargeter Foster was not listed in either of them.
