    Hi Starlight,

    Thanks for your offer.

I'm looking for Edward Alfred Parker, born 1880, Devon.

I have a letter written by him from New Guinea, dated April 1929 and another from Florida dated, July 1929, so there's a 3 month time span.

He may have a military rank attached to his name and his usual signature was Edward A Parker.

Keeping my fingers crossed that you can locate him for me.

    Many thanks,

    Mardi.

So sorry Starlight, I forgot to say Edward embarked in New Guinea

    Hi Mardi,

Sorry, I had no success with Edward. I've checked the 1930 census as well and there appears to be no sign of him then either.

Many thanks for trying Starlight, my Grandad was a little devil, just as well I have 10 years of his letters from Orlando or I'd be thinking he went up in a puff of smoke .

    Thanks again,

    Mardi.

    Hi Starlite

I moved my directory post to Nanna's thread. Thanks for the info. If you could I would appreciate it if you would check the passenger lists for my ancestors. Following are the names and other information on them:

Robert Williams and Mary Hogarth Williams married in Liverpool in 1843.

Robert Williams born either England or Wales in 1824.

Mary Hogarth Williams born in Liverpool in 1824.

    Jane Williams born 1845

Edward Williams born May 1848 in Liverpool

They were found in the New York Census in 1850 in June so they must have left England sometime between May 1848 and the first part of 1850.

I am trying to find the ship they traveled on and a manifest. Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi Gwen,

Sorry no luck. I found a Mary and Edward traveling together in 1848 but Edward was 2 so making him too old.
