Hi Carol, I was wondering if you can still help with finding a birth for Maria Hunfield, born in the parish of Tuxford, Notts abt 1799. I think her fathers name is Philip.
There are afew variations of the surname - Hunfield/Hunsfield/Huntfield/Huntsfield Many thanks in advance ![]() |

Hi
Here it is Maria HUNFIELD baptised 3 Jan 1799 at Tuxford to Philip Hunford & Mary. I can't see any other children or a marriage for Philip. Regards Carol |

Hi Carol, I wonder if you can find me any info on a Sarah Burton. I have her aged 5 living at gravel Pitt Beeston with a Peeter Burton65,Mary Burton60 and a Ann Burton20 in the 1841 census. She gave birth to a Peter Henry Burton in Nottingham 20Oct1850, I have the copy cert for that.
Not sure if the older Peter Burton was her father or if she married after Peter Henry was born. Anything you can find would be great. ( The elder Peter is listed in the census as born in Breeston) |

Hi
Looking at the information you have I would take it that Sarah was Peter & Mary's grandchild born to one of their own children. Their own children were Thomas bapt 25.10.1801 John bapt 26.08.1810 Sarah bapt 27.11.1814 Ann bapt 12.01. 1817 All baptised at Beeston There is a Sarah Anne Burton bapt 29.06.1836 to a Sarah Burton (spinster) at Beeston. This could be the Sarah born in 1814. I take it you know that the ages were rounded down in the 1841 census. Have you found Peter Henry in the 1851 & 1861 census? This may give some clues. Regards Carol |

Hi Carol. Many thanks for your reply, it's a great help. I just didn't know for certain if Sarah (1836) was the child or grandchild of the old Peter Burton. I can't find any info at all for her apart from the 1841 census.
I have found Peter Henry in the 1851 census, aged 5 months and listed as a relative living with the old Peter Burton and a Jesse Bostock and his wife Mary. He's also living with them in 1861. I know Peter Henry's mother was Sarah Burton I just can't work out which one! LOL |
