Hi all
I am trying to confirm the identity of a gentleman in an old family photo (I only have a few pics and they are all limited in info). This particular photo is of a young gentleman in a Auxiliary Fire Service Uniform, London. I have so far been able to find out that the service was set up at the outbreak of WW2 and was later changed in 1941 to the National Fire Service so I know the period of the photo would be 1938-41. My question is does anyone know where records of the enlisted men would be held. I have tried everything I can think of. I have a rough idea who he was and really just want to confirm his details so that I can then go on to track down service records and delve deeper into the family. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Erika |
