Can anyone help with my Irish ancestors ?



I'm trying to find Stephen Telford b.c. 1844 to George Telford (a farmer) & Abigail Benson. According to Stephen's marriage cert. 26 Nov 1868 in Govan, Glasgow he was 24 yrs old and both his parents were still alive. It also mentions the United Presbyterian church.



I've looked at the I.G.I & checked the poor relief records in the Mitchell Library in Glasgow without any luck.

I looked for the death of Abigail Telford (nee Benson) in Irish death records on the LDS pilot site. I couldn’t see her. However the name Abigail Telford is very rare with only 2 entries in all Ireland. One is a birth in Belfast July – Sept 1878 Volume 1, page 259, followed by her death in Belfast 1891 April – June Volume 1 page 204.

With the name being so rare, you’d wonder whether there might be a connection to your family. Perhaps this was the daughter of one of Stephen’s brothers. You might want to get the certs to see.
