Thread: Barnes from Norfolk

Need some help.

Looking for info on Thomas Dexter Barnes b:1808, Norwich, Father:Thomas Barnes, Mother:Susanna Buck, Married Mary Ann Shinkfield 1828, Clenchwarton. Children: Thomas b:1832 in Lynn Norfolk, Married Mary Cole, James b: 1835 in Upwell, Mary b:1836?, Samuel? b:1840?

I too have Barnes ancestry from Norfolk along with Blade ancestry and I came across a good free site with quite a lot of info.
This is what I found on Thomas Barnes born in 1831: County..Norfolk
Place..kings Lynn: Church..St Margarets: Register no. 2804: DOB 3 Jun 1831: Baptised 7 Jun 1831: Forename Thomas: Father Thomas: Mother Mary: Fathers Surname Barnes: Abode Norfolk Street, Lynn: Fathers occupation Tailor. The site is www.FreeReg.co.uk and it has some invaluable leads to Norfolk ancestry, this site is still transcribing a lot of records but it has an awful lot there already and it doesn't cost a bean. Have a look at this baptism record for yourself and you will see why I know this is your ancestor, Thomas had a second name and you can see clearly that it is sinkfield even though it is punctuated with hyphens.
