Default Elusive gt grandmother

I`m still searching and hoping, that one day a clue will arise to lead me to my gt grandmother. MARY HANNAH COPELAND, born 1850 Derby
She vanished after 1881 census when she was last traced in Pertrh, Scotland with her husband George Nelson Grant and their youngest daughter (my grandmother Mabel)

In 1891 George Nelson had acquired a new "wife" Annie and they were living in London, later the moved to Leicester, where George Nelson & Annie Packer married in 1910. He stating he was now a widower.
This is the only clue I have that Mary Hannah must have died around that time.

Without knowing what her adopted surname was I am unable to trace her.
It is obvious that in or after 1881 Mary Hannah & George Nelson parted, had Mary Hannah found a new partner? if she did then she must
have adiopted his surname. What was it????

Someone somewhere must know about her and have her as an ancestor,
if you know anything at all, please please contact me and help me to solve this mystery.
Mary Hannah was never spoken about in the family, I suppose it was considered to be a terrible scandal then to "live in sin" and this would have been the reason for the silence.

Can anyone offer any information?
