Hi Terry,

My grandma's maiden name was Bramley and I have traced our family back as far as Thomas Bramley and Mary(nee Ward). Unfortunately I can't back any further with the Bramley line either.

Regards Kathy.

Hi tel - sorry - hadn't noted that Kiwi had posted the information. I actually found the entry in the parish registers. I couldn't find anything I went to the records office to look for and decided to give Thomas a try.
But as you see it is on the IGI anyway - not sure how we managed to miss it!
Almost certainly St Botolphs (but I will have to check that). Will post when I have done so

Hi Gillian Thanks for that.I'll now attempt to continue my search in Shepshed. I've found Mary Ward's family in All Saints and will try to find the rest of her line from there. When I go to Leicester in August I'll take a trip to the various church's in the hope of finding more dead people. A bit macarbe don't you think? Thank's again Tel
