HELP Seeking the Marriage of "Ernest Jake Gale" to the Surname "Novelle" 1900-1950, Ernest and his Siblings were put into a home of some sort ?, it is said that Ernest came from Ireland to live in England, His Son lives in Sussex England, But knows little about his Father, Not much i know, But that's Genealogy

Thats a massive year range to check lol maybe you could narrow it down a little?!?

i.e. At what age an approx year of Ernests' death?

What year was his son born? then we can work backwards from this

Ive just checked the Marriage indexes 1935 - 1951...unfortunately no marriage for Gale & Novelle

Thanks for the help on the surname "Gale" His son believes that a Birth date of 13 April 1916 for his Mother and she was named Dorothy Novelle, But i will see if i can get any more information from his him and get back to you, His Son was born Circa 1947 so death after that, He as told me that his he had made extensive research on trying to find his fathers family, of course if the family entered a foundling home then the family names would more than likely have been altered.

I reversed the Marriage search and have found:

Dec Qtr 1935
Gwendoline M NOVELLE & Jack E GALE Vol 2b Page 980 Worthing

I then checked the Birth index and found:

Jun Qtr 1916 Vol 2b Page 562 E.Preston
Gwendoline M NOVELL - Mothers Maiden name PACKHAM

Hope this is the correct couple

Just found these on FreeBMD:

Births Mar 1913 (>99%) Novelle Victor M Packham Thakeham 2b552

Births Jun 1916 (56%) Novell Gwendoline M Packham E. Preston 2b562

Births Mar 1920 (99%) Novell (Female) Packham E.Preston 2b744



Maybe the other births may confirm that this is his mother?!?
