these girls have toyed with me long enough. would some kind soul see if they can find them in the pr's in Essex
Elizabeth Richards b. abt 1755 of Essex, probably Lawford/Manningtree I am looking for a record of her baptism. she may have been baptised as a nonconformist as she married a Quaker. they married out of unity but were forgiven and allowed to register their children in the Quaker records. her daughter in law Hannah Smith b. 11 Dec 1785 of Essex I am looking for her baptism. she married out of unity to a man with a Quaker birth right. they never returned to the Quaker faith, and their children were baptised Wesleyan Methodist. however, I believe this may be the Richard's faith, not the Smith's??? a Richards who is probably related baptised their children the same day as Hannah baptised her children. I have intentionally left their spouses names out to avoid distraction. I know a lot about the Quaker males, but have almost nothing on their non-Quaker wives. by the way, Elizabeth is my 6x great grandmother, and Hannah is my 5x great grandmother. Hannah is also an immigrant ancestress of mine, as I am an American and she and her family came to America in 1843. |
