Default Hms Teviotbank / Tidiotbank

Hms Teviotbank / Tidiotbank

my grandad john curran was in the merchant navy during the 2nd world war
he was one of of these ships, i have found out quite a bit of info on teviotbank
but it may have been tidiotbank, im desperate to find a connection between him and one of these ships, he was born aroun 1899 and died at sea around 1943 he came from liverpool, he also may have been on the aquitania in the 20's, i have been on the kew archives but cant really find the right person or any links to the ships.

i know its a real long shot, thanks for any help

I have done a search for Teviotbank. Seems it was a minelayer and a merchant ship apprenticed to the RN operating in the South China Sea. Think they call it Malaysia now......me dad was there till the end of the Japanese war Unfortunately I can find no mention of John Curran...try this link........hopefully it will shed some light

www.archives.gov/research/arc/topics/navy.

as happened often during WW2 he may have been transferred from one ship to another .
