Thumbs down pressganged fisherman

I have an ancestor who was pressganged in northumberland ,fromCresswell, in the napoleonic wars, the only info I have - and this is mainly guesswork is a Thomas Brown b. about 1769 pressganged in 1798 - 1806, I have some info from the national archives - but I am not 100% sure if it is the right person, as it doesn't go into detail about him, If it is him the last ship he sailed on was HMS Diadem, he would have been approx 28 or 29 years old and married with family when pressed into service, I did wonder if this was a little old, he then returned to life as a fisherman again. I am told he had some sort of uniform, but I thought it was only high ranking sailors who had the uniforms. and he was simply a fisherman by trade, does anyone know anything about this trade?
