i am wondering if any one can help me my partner has a relative who was 14 year old private francis wisemanin 1871
all i know is that ihe was in colchester.can any one have any idea what regiment he was in and how i would go about tracing any details about his regiment ,war at the time and any details i can find from hm
i would be grateful for any help here as i have no clue what to do

Hi edwinwrg,

You could try posting in either the request help or census lookup forums asking for an Essex lookup from disc. I have found that some discs retain all the original notes which are not on the ancestry images. You might be lucky in finding the regiment. Unfortunately, I don't have Essex.
