Hi
My Great Grandfather William Hancock born 1892 in Lanchester, Durham was in the 18th hussars based at Northern cavalry barracks scorobourgh in 1915. I know he then went on to join the Blackwatch and served in ww1 my Nan only met him once when she was two and has no memory of him atall and thought he was killed during the first world war in India or Burma, but my research leads me to beleve it was sometime straight after the war I cannot trace his death in the UK and have no idea how too if he was killed abroad and without knowing if it was Burma or India it seems pretty impossible, unfourtunatley my Nan passed away last April but I would still love to get to the bottom of it all, if any one has any advise I would be very grateful. Many Thanks Sarah Last edited by sarahcole1978; 01-02-2008 at 10:28 AM. |
