Default Help finding Military Records

I was wondering where do I go to find on the internet information on Military records. My nana's side of the family were big army people and I would like to find some information on them. Their last names are Godden / Bloodworth and they are from the UK.

Hi tanjat67,

Do you mean prior to World war 2 ? World war two records are still held by the ministry of Defence.

Hi Tanja. Wherever you look they will request the indiviuals service details. Such as Number (army/regiment) Regiment they served in, Rank, Theatre of opperations,eg, Europe, India, etc. Any medals,

Although National Archives is full of information, my brain finds it difficult to negotiate. You can start there with the medals list.

If you know what regiment they served in; you can try it's millitary museum. I have found them very helpful.

Good hunting. ..... Jimbo.
