Thread: Looking for Prosser or Corrigans from Middlesex

Hi....Just wondering if anyone has any info on Prosser or Corrigans from Middlesex.
Trying to trace back from Thomas William John Corrigan born 1826 in Middlesex. He murdered his wife, Louisa (Stripling) in 1855 and was transported to Australia.
He left 4 daughters orphaned in London and when he was released he sent for them but only 3 came out. We can't find any trace of his first daughter, Sarah, which I would dearly love to find out what happened to her. We also have paperwork from Thomas calling her Rachel Jane as well.....so a bit confused on that. She was born in 1847.
Now for the Prossers....William and Harriot Prosser were Thomas' grand parents. They worked for the East India Company as well as Thomas. Their daughter, Harriot, married Thomas Corrigan senior. I would like to find dates for William and Harriot Prosser. I do have a death date of 1842 for Harriot though. Hope everyone can understand what I have written lol Thanks in advance for any info.

Thank you so much Elsabels. I had some of the info you gave me but also some that I did not, so thank you.
The girl, Jane, in the 1851 census is the mystery one. The 4 girls went into Stephensons Orphanage after Thomas was reprieved from the death sentence and transported to Australia. But they have her down on the 1861 census as Sara A Corrigan. The 3 youngers girls came out to their father after he was released, but what happened to her we cannot find out. It is so frustrating !!
I would also dearly love to find out more on the Prosser side, from Harriott Prosser (wife of Thomas Corrigan) back. Her parents names were William and Harriott....this Harriett died on the 28th Aug 1842 but that is all I have on them.

How do you know the PROSSER's are connected to the East India Trading Company and which Thomas is this PROSSER /CORRIGAN?

She was born on 05 Sep 1853 in Bethnal Green, LONDON.....Elizabeth Alice CORRIGAN. She was born 1855 in London, England

Thomas W J Corrigan Jnr died in 1850....1 yr old.

We have been in contact with the Foresters Friendly Society which Thomas was a member of before murdering his wife in 1855. They told us he worked for the East India Company along with his grandparents William and Harriet Prosser. They are also mentioned in a recent book on the East India Company written by Margaret Makepeace from the British Library....who we have actually met last time we were over there.

Yes we have those....a copy of the originals....what is online is a lot easier to read than the old writing though
