I cannot readily see a birth or baptism entry for Jane / Sarah /Ann in 1847....BUT
Thos & Louisa were married 25 December 1847,, the date of the incident in 1855!
The 1851 census was taken on 30 March 1851, there fore if the age is accurate on the census for the child, she was born before the marriage i.e in the period 1 April 1846 - 30 March 1847

Never thought to look under Stripling. Maybe she wasn't Thomas' daughter and thats maybe why she never joined her sisters when they came to Australia

I just read the poems he wrote while in gaol. He called his eldest child "Jane"...yet the Orphanage called her Sara A. He wrote poems and the Forresters Society made a small booklet with them and sold it for 5p to help with the cost of keeping the girls in the Orphanage. When we visited the Forresters Society in Southampton we actually saw the only surviving copy of the booklet....it was so gorgeous to see. Is there anyway I can post a file on here ? I will post a thread on Prosser now....thanks so much Elsabels
