    Default Ernest William Robinson

Ernest William Robinson..Any information found after 1920 should be sent by private message.....

On the Death Certificate Ernest William was aged 76 and died on 12 February 1954 at Ashford Hospital, Stanwell, Staines. At the time his place of residence was 113 The Alders, Hanworth, Feltham, Middlesex - also the home of the informant - his son E J Robinson. Ernest William was described as a retired Private Chauffer. The cause of death was heart failure.
He was born 4 April 1877 at 18 Newhaven Street, Brighton and had 3 children to Marion before moving away and starting a new family life in London. Who were the ‘London’ family and did they know of the ‘Brighton’ family?

Sorry - just found your posting.....
Ernest and Marion's first daughter was 'given away' to his parents and grew up without knowing about her siblings. I only found her (Lydia) through doing family research and having been in touch with her descendents learned that Ernest had paid them a visit in the 1950's from London with his son and their young family. Unfortunately there was so much 'bad blood' they were sent away and Ernest and his family were never heard of again.

You can find LYDIA with her paternal grnadmother on the 1901 & later census,

    Marion ROBINSON

with her mother in 1901 but no sign of Helen Dorothy ROBINSON, with 2 children and a Frederick SUTTON who is desc as her 'brother' he marries her in 1918....

Struggling to find Ernest William on later year census

Do you know what his son EJ is named?

I have also had no joy with Ernest William on 1911 census and I have no idea of EJ's name. As for Helen Dorothy there is apparently a Dorothy Robinson born in Brighton age 3 on the 1901 census who is about the correct age (unfortunately I don't have a copy). Lydia married Ralph Twine in Portsmouth and had 7 children. Marion (whilst still married to Ernest William) had a son in 1908 - George Frederick Sutton Robinson (no prizes as to who was probably the biological father!)
