Thread: NASH FAMILY DERRY NORTHERN iRELAND

Hi

My great grandfather was called Lawrence Nash,Master Steverdore Derry Docks 1860-1930.

Lawrence married Ellen Watt and had seven children,three died young,the four that lived were lizzie my grandmother 1885-1962, Paddy 1887-1964,Lawrence 1891-1951 and Nellie 1894-1973.

A few of Paddy's sons settled in England,Morecambe and Lancaster,i would be interested in hearing from any of the decendants of these sons,names include Jim,Patsey,Harry and Johnny Nash.

Most of the Nash families in Derry are connected,decended from one couple Lawrence Nash(born 1832) and Catherine O'Brian.

If anybody has any info on the family please get in touch.

My grandmother Lizzie Nash married Johnny Cassidy,Nellie married Johnny McLaughlin,Lawrence married margaret (Maggie or Ma Nash) McCelland and Paddy married Mary Healy,all have decendents living in Derry,it would be great to hear from any of them.We are also related to Charlie Nash the Derry boxer,his great grandfather and mine were brother's.(they were two of ten children).

Hi, Paul, Christopher Lawrence Nash here from Hertfordshire England, my grandfather was Lawrence Nash deceased 1951, his son Raymond was my father. I will be able to help you fill in some of the blanks, there is one of my fathers generation still living, that is my grandfathers daughter Elizabeth, who is living in Los Angeles, I just returned from a regular visit to Derry, this Friday passed and have made first steps to link up with my family in Carrondonner, as my fathers brother Frank married and settled there, he has three cildren all still living there, whom I plan to visit when I return in August.

Great to hear from you,i have been in contact and met your cousin Raymond Nash (son of Ronnie) ,i have also e-mailed Germaine Holmes,grandaughter of Josie Nash.If you have any info on the family that would be great.Do you keep in contact with Raymond,if so ask him for my e-mail and we can swop info that way.My mother is the last of her family(13) and she has five other cousin's alive,six if you count Lily Nash in America.Chris do you have an e-mail for Lily,she would remember the Steverdore,her grandfather,i would like to know what stories she might have on him.
