My ancesters are from Countesthorpe Leicestershir. would you have any information on landowners in that area. The family name is TEBBS, although I believe that my GGGrandfather married into a land owning family as well, his wife was called Phipps. Thanks Pyghtle (Brenda) |

Hi Pyghtle,
I have found a William Tebbs from Countesthorpe he owned 50 acres of land which realised an annual income of £105. Also there's a John Tebbs from Ashby Folville who owned just over an acre and was worth £10 and 5 shillings. There's a Rev. George william Phipps from Husbands Bosworth he had 580 acres which was worth an annual income of £945 and 12 shillings. Also Hannah Phipps from Seagrave just over 7 acres worth an annual income of £18 and 10 shillings. I hope this helps Regards Slizzy |
