Default Old books!

I am still struggling with research but suddenly remembered I had a number of old family books on my bookshelves. If this was a story there would have been a family bible with all names and dates recorded..... Alas, no story however I have found a number of new names and dates. So if you have any old family books try looking through the pages! I am looking for information on Cook - sometimes spelled Cooke, Keane, Bissett (or may be Bizzett) and Jeffries. All but the Jeffries appear to have been in West Herrington village, Co.Durham from around 1840 to 1945.

Good idea...........amazing what you can find written inside the cover of a book and don't forget the little notebooks our rellies seemed to have. My Gran had a 'recipe notebook' and on the inside cover was the address of the rectory where she was in domestic service. Always makes interesting reading even if no names are found.
Oh and diaries.............never to be forgotten. I've got my dad's he wrote in 1943............fascinating stuff !
